Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO ENRICH THE LINGUISTIC, SOCIO-LINGUISTIC AND TEXTUAL SKILLS OF THE STUDENTS THROUGH THE LINGUISTIC, RHETORICAL AND STYLISTIC ANALYSIS OF WRITTEN AND ORAL TEXTS. TIME WILL BE DEVOTED TO THE PROBLEMS OF TRANSLATION AND ALSO TO THE STUDY OF LINGUISTIC PHENOMENA THROUGH A DIACHRONIC AND DIATOPIC STUDY OF THE LANGUAGE. BY THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENTS WILL HAVE REACHED A LEVEL OF LINGUISTIC COMPETENCE CORRESPONDING TO C1 LEVEL OF THE COMMON EUROPEAN LANGUAGE FRAMEWORK.
1. APPROPRIATE KNOWLEDGE OF FRENCH WRITTEN AND ORAL LANGUAGE. ABILITY OF TEXT ANALYSIS AND TEXTUAL TRANSLATION AT A HIGHER LEVEL. ABILITY IN USING ITS TOOLS FOR THE ELABORATION OF TEXTS AND FOR VARIOUS RESEARCHES, VERIFYING CRITICALLY THE ACCOUNTABILITY OF THE DOCUMENTS FOUND.
2. ABILITY IN ANALYZING THE STUDY OF COMPLEX LINGUISTIC PHENOMENA AND PROBLEMS REFERRED TO TRANSLATION IN DIFFERENT WAYS AND WITH DIFFERENT AIMS
3.KNOWLEDGE OF THE MECHANISM OF LINGUISTIC COMPARATIVE TEXTS, IN RELATION WITH THEIR GENRE AND THEIR STYLISTIC STRUCTURE.
4. FLUENCY OF REFLEXION AND JUDGEMENT ON CRITICAL AND LEARNING UPDATED TOOLS WHICH ALLOW TO ELABORATE RESEARCHES IN THE FRENCH LANGUAGE FIELD AS WELL AS IN CULTURAL AND DISCIPLINARY DOMAINS REFERRED TO IT.
IMPROVEMENT OF COMMUNICATION ABILITIES, BOTH WRITTEN AND ORAL, IN PROFESSIONAL, SOCIAL AND ACADEMIC CONTEXTS.
5. ABILITY IN APPROACHING CRITICALLY THE ANALYSIS OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF SPEECHES AND ANALYZING THE LINGUISTIC AND TEXTUAL PHENOMENA ON WHICH REFLECT AND EXAMINE AUTONOMOUSLY AND CRITICALLY.
Prerequisites
THE COURSE REQUIRES A VERY GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF FRENCH AND A LIMITED TIME FOR IMPROVING THE LINGUISTIC AND COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCES, PREVIOUSLY ACQUIRED. THE COURSE IS ADDRESSED TO STUDENTS WITH B2 LEVEL (COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES).
LINGUE E CULTURE STRANIERE STUDENTS WILL HAVE PASSED THE EXAMS IN FRENCH LANGUAGE II ENAD FRENCH LITERATURE II. STUDENTS OF VGPT GRADUTAION SHALL HAVE PASSED THE EXAM OF FRANCESE CORSO BASE.
Contents
LINGUISTIC AND SOCIO-LINGUISTIC SKILLS WILL BE IMPROVED AND EXTENDED, THROUGH THE LINGUISTIC, RHETORICAL AND STYLISTIC ANALYSIS OF WRITTEN AND ORAL TEXT, WITH THE AIM OF UNDERLINING THE DEEP CONNECTION BETWEEN FACTORS IN SYNTACTIC, SEMANTIC AND PRAGMATIC ORDER. BASIC QUESTIONS OF TRANSLATION THEORY AND PRACTICE WILL BE DISCUSSED THROUGH THE COMPARISON-CONTRASTIVE CODES IN CONTACT WITH TRANSLATION OF DIFFERENT KINDS AND OF SPECIFIC INTEREST. POSSIBLE TRANSLATIONS WILL BE COMPARED, BY VERIFYING THE ANALYSIS CRITERIA AND THE COHERENCE OF THE TRANSLATED TEXTS. ACCORDING TO THE IMPORTANCE OF ICT AND, IN PARTICULAR, FOR THE TRANSLATOR PROFESSION, THE COURSE PROPOSES ALSO TO DEVELOP PROPERLY THE NECESSARY ABILITIES IN ORDER TO USE ICT SUPPORTS AND THE ATTITUDE OF NET WORKING. STUDENTS ATTENDING THE COURSE WILL BE HELPED IN INDIVIDUAL STUDY PLANS AND IN ALTERNATIVE TRANSLATION TESTS. A CYCLE OF SEMINARS WILL LET STUDENTS RESEARCH THROUGH APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

Verification of learning
AT THE END OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS WHO HAVE ATTENDED OR NOT ATTENDED TO THE COURSE HAVE TO PASS AN EXAM CONSISTING OF A WRITTEN TEST NECESSARY TO TAKE THE ORAL TEST.
WRITTEN TEST FOR LINGUE E CULTURE STUDENTS: THE TEST LASTS 6 HOURS AND CONSISTS OF SUBJECTS STUDIED DURING THE COURSE, ON CONTENTS OF THE BOOKS PROPOSED FOR THE STUDY OF FRENCH THIS YEAR. WRITTEN TEST CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:
-DICTATION,
-COMPOSITION,
-TRANSLATION.
WRITTEN TEST FOR INTERATENEO STUDENTS: TRANSLATION.
THE FINAL MARK IS THE AVERAGE OF THE THREE TEST MARKS.
ORAL TEST: THE EXAM CONSISTS OF A CONVERSATION ON SUBJECTS STUDIED DURING THE COURSE. SUBJECTS STUDIED INDEPENDENTLY BY SINGLE STUDENTS OR IN GROUP WILL BE APPRECIATED.
THE FINAL MARK WILL BE THE AVERAGE OF THE WRITTEN AND ORAL TEST MARKS.
