Objectives
MODULE 1 EU AND NATIONAL LEGISLATION OF THE HERBAL SECTOR

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN REGULATORY REFERENCES RELATED TO THE HERBAL AND PHARMACEUTICAL FIELDS, AND THEIR IMPACT ON COMPANIES, PRODUCTS AND CONSUMER HEALTH PROTECTION.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO DEAL WITH BASIC LEGAL ISSUES SUCH AS THE SETTLING OF A COMPANY, AND THE REGULATION OF THE EXPLOITATION OF PLANT-DERIVED PRODUCTS FOR PHARMACEUTICAL, COSMETIC AND FOOD PURPOSES


MODULE 2 – BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

THE GENERAL OBJECTIVE IS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH TECHNICAL AND INSTRUMENTAL KNOWLEDGE FOR UNDERSTANDING THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE HERBAL SECTOR AND IN A WIDE PERSPECTIVE OF VALORIZATION OF THE SECTOR RELATIONS.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
- KNOWLEDGE OF COMPANY MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES AND INSTRUMENTS
- UNDERSTANDING THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE HERBAL SECTOR
- KNOWLEDGE OF THE CONCEPT OF THE CHAIN
- KNOWLEDGE OF THE POLICIES OF VALORIZATION OF THE SUPPLY CHAIN RELATIONS.

THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO SUPPORT CONVERSATIONS ON TOPICS RELATED TO SUPPLY CHAIN RELATIONS BY MAKING USE OF THE MOST SUITABLE TECHNIQUES AND TOOLS TO ENHANCE THE AGRICULTURAL PHASE IN A SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PERSPECTIVE OF PRODUCTION ACTIVITIES.

WELL-ESTABLISHED KNOWLEDGE OF WRITTEN AND ORAL ITALIAN; BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF PRIVATE LAW AND OF COMMERCIAL LAW; ABILITY TO CONSULT KEY REGULATORY TEXTS.

OUTLINES OF COMMERCIAL LAW (4 hours). SPECIAL DISCIPLINE OF THE COMMERCIAL AND AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISE, WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO BUSINESS REGISTER, ACCOUNTING RECORDS, COMMERCIAL REPRESENTATION, INSOLVENCY PROCEDURES. (6 hours)
INTERPRETATION AND ENFORCEMENT OF THE STATE LAW. (2 hours)
INDUSTRY REGULATIONS ON THE PRODUCTION AND SALE OF COSMETIC PRODUCTS, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO LIMITS ON THE USE OF MEDICINAL AND OFFICINAL PLANTS.(10 hours)
MAIN TOOLS OF CONSUMER INFORMATION, REPRESENTATION AND PROTECTION. THE CONSUMER CODE: THE CRUCIAL POINTS.(4 hours)
QUALITY CONTROL SYSTEM ACCORDING TO THE H.A.C.C.P. REGULATION. (4 hours)
DEVELOPMENT OF A HACCP MANUAL APPLIED TO A AGRI-FOOD COMPANY. (6 hours)

- THE COMPANY: ORIGINS, STRUCTURE AND CHARACTERS (1 HOUR)
- THE COMPANY, THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE CONTEXT (1 HOUR)
- THE CORPORATE GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT FUNCTION (1 HOUR)
- STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT AND BUSINESS PLAN (1 HOUR)
- OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT AND THE INPUT-TRANSFORMATION-OUTPUT CYCLE (1 HOUR)
- THE BUSINESS FUNCTIONS: PURCHASING AND LOGISTICS; PRODUCTION, ORGANIZATION, SALES AND MARKETING, HUMAN RESOURCES, FINANCE (2 HOURS)
- THE HERBAL SUPPLY CHAIN: AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION, INDUSTRIAL TRANSFORMATION, COMMERCIAL DISTRIBUTION, CONSUMPTION (1 HOUR).
- THE SUPPLY CHAIN SYSTEM OF MEDICINAL PLANTS: CRITICAL ISSUES AND PROSPECTS (2)

Teaching Methods
MODULE 1
EU AND NATIONAL LEGISLATION OF THE HERBAL SECTOR
THE COURSE CONSISTS OF 48 HOURS (6 CFU), IS SEMINAR-BASED AND WILL BE ORGANIZED IN LECTURES.
READING, ANALYSIS AND COMMENTARY OF LEGAL TEXTS AND JURISPRUDENTIAL PRONOUNCEMENTS, AS WELL AS ANALYSIS OF SPECIFIC MANUALS ON PRODUCTION AND SAFETY IN THE AGRI-FOOD SECTOR ARE ENVISAGED

MODULE 2 - BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
THE COURSE OF 24 HOURS (3CFU) WILL BE ORGANIZED IN LECTURES, DISCUSSIONS OF CURRENT ARTICLES, COMPANY TESTIMONIALS AND GROUP WORK. AFTER A FIRST PHASE IN WHICH THE TEACHER WILL TRANSFER THE PREPARATORY CONTENTS TO THE STUDY OF THE COMPANY, AS WELL AS THE MOST USED BUSINESS MODELS IN THE HERBAL SECTOR, THE STUDENTS WILL WORK ON THE ANALYSIS OF EMPIRICAL CASES WITH A PARTICULAR FOCUS ON SUPPLY CHAIN RELATIONSHIPS IN ORDER TO ENHANCE THE AGRICULTURAL PHASE IN A PERSPECTIVE OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF PRODUCTIVE ACTIVITIES.

Verification of learning
MODULE 1 EU AND NATIONAL LEGISLATION OF THE HERBAL SECTOR
THE COURSE IS DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS WHO ATTEND REGULARLY. THOSE WHO ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND MAY REQUEST A PROGRAM WITH A DIFFERENT SETTING.
THE FINAL EXAMINATION IS GIVEN IN ORAL FORM AND TAKES INTO ACCOUNT THE INTERACTIVITY OF THE LECTURES. ATTENDING STUDENTS, IF THEY WISH AND IN AGREEMENT WITH THE LECTURER, MAY TAKE AN INTERCOURSE ORAL EXAMINATION.
EVALUATION CRITERIA FOR THE EXAM WILL BE:
- ABILITY TO PLACE LEGAL INSTITUTIONS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE PRINCIPLES AND VALUES THAT IMPRINT THE LEGAL SYSTEM;
- ABILITY TO CRITICALLY SELECT DATA;
- ABILITY IN READING AND UNDERSTANDING THE MAIN DOCTRINAL AND JURISPRUDENTIAL ORIENTATIONS;
- ANALYTICAL ABILITY IN EXAMINING AGRIFOOD SAFETY INFORMATION AND HOW IT IS APPLIED, IN ACCORDANCE WITH LEGAL PROVISIONS.

MODULE 2 - BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE TEACHING OBJECTIVES IS CERTIFIED BY PASSING AN ORAL EXAM WITH AN ASSESSMENT OUT OF THIRTY.
FOR THE STUDENTS, A FIRST MOMENT OF VERIFICATION IS REPRESENTED BY THE PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT WORK. EACH GROUP HAS 20 MINUTES FOR THE POWER POINT PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT. A FURTHER 10 MINUTES ARE DEVOTED TO QUESTIONS.
DURING THE COURSE, CORRESPONDING TO HALF OF THE LESSONS, 1 TEST WILL BE CARRIED OUT BASED ON MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS AND AIMED AT VERIFYING THE PROGRESSIVE ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE. THE POSITIVE OUTCOME OF THE INDIVIDUAL TEST WILL FORM A BASIS FOR THE FINAL ASSESSMENT WHICH WILL BE DETERMINED AFTER PASSING AN ORAL INTERVIEW ON THE TOPICS COVERED DURING THE COURSE.
THE ORAL EXAM CONSISTS OF A SUMMARY INTERVIEW THAT TRACES THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL CONTENTS PROVIDED IN THE TEACHING PROGRAM AND IS AIMED AT ASCERTAINING THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING CAPACITY ACHIEVED BY THE STUDENT, AS WELL AS VERIFYING THE EXPOSURE CAPACITY OF A APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE AND THE AUTONOMOUS ORGANIZATION OF THE EXHIBITION.

THE FINAL RESULT OF THE EXAMINATION WILL RESULT FROM A WEIGHTED ASSESSMENT OF THE KNOWLEDGE CERTIFIED IN THE 2 MODULES.
