Objectives
THE COURSE OF HYDRAULICS II IS AIMED TO DEVELOP AND DEEPEN THE KNOWLEDGE LEARNED IN THE COURSE OF BACHELOR LEVEL

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
FROM A GENERAL POINT OF VIEW OF THE COURSE IS AIMED TO PROVIDE THE KNOWLEDGE AND MASTERY OF THE ADVANCED PRINCIPLES OF HYDRAULICS ACQUIRED THROUGH THE STUDY AND UNDERSTANDING OF TEXTBOOKS AND SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS
FROM A SPECIFIC POINT OF VIEW THE COURSE IS AIMED TO PROVIDE THE KNOWLEDGE NECESSARY FOR THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE FOLLOWING ASPECTS:
- PERFORMANCE AND DESIGN OF THE MOST COMMON HYDRAULIC STRUCTURES
- PRINCIPLES THAT GOVERN BOTH UNSTEADY PRESSURE AND FREE-SURFACE FLOWS
- PRINCIPLES THAT GOVERN THE INTERACTION BETWEEN CURRENT AND OBJECTS
- PRINCIPLES THAT GOVERN THE SEDIMENT TRANSPORT

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
FROM A GENERAL POINT OF VIEW THE COURSE IS AIMED TO PROVIDE THE ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF ADVANCED HYDRAULICS PRINCIPLES IN ORDER TO SOLVE PROBLEMS WITHIN AN INNOVATIVE AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACHES AND TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT INNOVATIVE AND ORIGINAL APPROACHES
FROM A SPECIFIC POINT OF VIEW THE COURSE IS AIMED TO PROVIDE THE SKILLS NEEDED TO:
- DESIGNING THE MOST COMMON HYDRAULIC STRUCTURES
- ANALYZE COMPLEX SITUATIONS OF UNSTEADY MOTION FOR BOTH MOTIONS PRESSURE AND FREE-SURFACE FLOWS
- ANALYZE THE COMPLEX ISSUES RELATED TO THE INTERACTION BETWEEN CURRENT AND OBJECTS
- ANALYZE THE COMPLEX ISSUES RELATED TO SEDIMENT TRANSPORT

JUDGEMENT:
ABILITY TO COLLECT AND INTEGRATE KNOWLEDGE RELATED TO ADVANCED HYDRAULICS IN ORDER TO MANAGE THE COMPLEXITY AND THE CASE OF LIMITED INFORMATION IN ORDER TO ISSUE NOT ONLY TECHNICAL BUT ALSO SOCIAL AND ETHICAL JUDGMENTS RELATED TO THE APPLICATION OF KNOWLEDGE

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
COMMUNICATE IN A CLEAR AND UNAMBIGUOUS WAY KNOWLEDGE, METHODS AND CONCLUSIONS ON ISSUES RELATED TO ADVANCED HYDRAULICS TO INTERLOCUTORS WITH SPECIALIZED TRAINING AND IDEAS, BASIC CONCEPTS AND SOLUTIONS TO NON-SPECIALISTS INTERLOCUTORS

LEARNING SKILLS:
LEARNING CAPABILITIES THAT ENABLE IT TO CONTINUE STUDYING MOSTLY IN A SELF - DIRECTED OR AUTONOMOUS AND PROPENSITY FOR INNOVATION.

THE COURSE CONSISTS OF 60 HOURS OF WHICH APPROXIMATELY 40% IS DEVOTED TO THE THEORY, 30% IS DEVOTED TO EXERCISES AND 10% RECALL LESSONS AND EXAM PREPARATION.
