Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO DEEPEN THE STUDY OF THE ETRUSCAN CULTURE CONSIDERED IN ITS HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT UNTIL THE CONQUEST OF ROME. THE ETRUSCAN CIVILISATION WILL BE PRESENTED IN ITS CULTURAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE OTHER ITALIC PEOPLES, THE GREEK WORLD AND THE EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN.
ATTENTION WILL BE PAID TO THE STUDY OF MATERIAL CULTURE TO BE USED FOR ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXCAVATIONS, THE MUSEUM EXHIBITIONS AND A PROPER COMMUNICATION ACTIVITIES

Contents
THE COURSE OUTLINES THE DEVELOPMENT OF URBAN COMMUNITIES IN ETRURIA, FROM THE PROTO-URBAN CENTERS OF THE IRON AGE TO THE PLANNED CITY OF THE ARCHAIC PERIOD.
THROUGH ARCHAEOLOGICAL AND HISTORICAL SOURCES, THE FORMATION OF THE CITY IS EXAMINED AS A COMPLEX PHENOMENON WHICH INVOLVES URBAN PLANNING, ORGANIZATION OF THE AGRICULTURAL LANDSCAPE, DEVELOPMENT OF POLITICAL AND INSTITUTIONAL STRUCTURES, SYSTEM OF TRADE AND CRAFTS.
AT THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENT WILL HAVE DEEPENED METHODOLOGICAL AND PHILOLOGICAL TOOLS FOR READING AND INTERPRETATION OF THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL DOCUMENT, WHICH CAN BE USED IN PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES RELATED WITH THE DEGREE OF UNIVERSITY TRAINING. THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY CULTURAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS ACQUIRED DURING THE UNIVERSITY IN CARRYING OUT ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXCAVATIONS, ORGANIZATION OF EXHIBITIONS AND MUSEUM EXHIBITIONS AND ACTIVITIES OF DISSEMINATION AND COMMUNICATION OF THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL HERITAGE.

THE COURSE IS HELD WITH LECTURES SUPPLEMENTED BY POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS WHICH WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO THE STUDENTS.

LEARNING OUTCOMES ARE VERIFIED THROUGH ORAL EXAMINATIONS ACCORDING TO THE TIMETABLE PUBLISHED ON THE WEBSITE OF THE POSTGRADUATE COURSE.
