** KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING STUDENTS WILL GAIN A SET OF BASIC ANALYTICAL TOOLS TO UNDERSTAND 1) THE PROBLEMS OF MARKET FAILURE THAT REQUIRE A STATE INTERVENTION; 2) THE PROBLEMS OF STATE (INTERVENTION) FAILURE THAT MAY REDUCE ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY; 3) THE MAIN TECHNIQUES OF COUNTERFACTUAL ANALYSIS OF PUBLIC INTERVENTION AND OF EFFICIENCY MEASUREMENT. ** APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THROUGH FRONTAL TEACHING AND CLASSES, STUDENTS WILL BE GRADUALLY BROUGHT TO THE CAPABILITY OF UNDERSTANDING THE PURPOSES OF PUBLIC INTERVENTIONS, THE RESULTS OBTAINED AND SOME PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE USE OF THE DATA IN THESE AREAS. THROUGH INTERACTION WITH THE TEACHER AND CLASSES, STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO ENACT A GRADUAL AND CONSTANT CONTROL ON THEIR LEARNING CURVE. |

LEARNING IS ASSESSED BY AN ORAL TEST. MARKING FOLLOWS THE TRADITIONAL ITALIAN SCALE. BEFORE THE ORAL TEST IT IS COMPULSORY TO DELIVER AN INDIVIDUAL REPORT (ASSIGNMENT), ON A TOPIC AGREED WITH THE PROFESSOR. THE ORAL TEST LASTS NO MORE THAN 30 MINUTES. |
