| INTRODUCTION TO THERMODYNAMICS; EQUILIBRIUM THERMODYNAMICS; FIRST AND SECOND LAWS OF THERMODYNAMICS; THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF GASES, VAPORS, AND GAS-VAPOR MIXTURES; ENERGY-SYSTEMS ANALYSIS INCLUDING POWER CYCLES, REFRIGERATION CYCLES AND AIR-CONDITIONING PROCESSES. THE USE OF THE FIRST LAW IN THE ANALYSIS OF CLOSED THERMODYNAMIC SYSTEMS. UNDERSTANDING THE USE OF THE FIRST LAW IN THE ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF DEVICES SUCH AS HEAT EXCHANGERS, PIPING, COMPRESSORS, PUMPS USING CONTROL VOLUMES. ENTROPY RATE BALANCES IN THE ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF DEVICES SUCH AS TURBINES, COMPRESSORS, ETC. SIZING HEAT PLANTS. |

| THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE PREFIXED OBJECTIVES WILL BE REALIZED BY WRITTEN TEST AND ORAL INTERVIEW. THE LATTER, IS TO BE HELD NECESSARILY IN THE SAME SESSION IN WHICH THE WRITTEN TEST IS PASSED. THE INTERVIEW IS TYPICALLY SCHEDULED SEVEN DAYS AFTER THE WRITTEN TEST. |
