THE COURSE AIMS TO GIVE STUDENTS AN UP-TO-DATE VIEW ABOUT BANKING INFORMATION SYSTEMS WITH RESPECT TO TECHNOLOGIES, ORGANIZATION AND BUSINESS SECURITY. TO PROVIDE THE STUDENTS WITH BASIC KNOWLEDGE ABOUT EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES AND NEW BUSINESS MODELS WHICH ARE CHANGING THE ROLE OF TCT WITHIN BUSINESS MODELS OF BANKS. BANKING INFORMATION SYSTEMS WILL BE PRESENTED CLASSIFIED ON FUNCTIONAL AREA (SUCH AS ACCOUNTING, FINANCE, HR, RISK MANAGEMENT, CREDIT MANAGEMENT, AUDITING), ON ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE (DEPARTMENT, BUSINESS UNITS); AND ON MIS - MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM, DSS - DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM, EIS - EXECUTIVE INFORMATION SYSTEM; OR LEGACY, CLIENT SERVER, WEB BASED. |

THE COURSE IS ESSENTIALLY BASED ON LECTURES WITH DISCUSSION OF REAL CASES AND THE ANALYSIS OF BANKING DOCUMENTS. THE MAIN TOPICS ARE AS FOLLOWS: -ICT IN BANKS -ON LINE BANKING AND BUSINESS MODEL -SYSTEM SECURITY AND CYBER SECURITY -ICT GOVERNANCE -NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL RULES ABOUT INFORMATION SYSTEMS -RULES AND REGULATIONS ABOUT OPERATIONAL RISK -INFORMATICS RISKS -PRINCIPLES ON BANK’S RECOVERY. |

THE COURSE IS BASED ON LECTURES LASTING 30 HOURS (5 ECTS). DURING THE LECTURES IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS, SEMINARS AND DISCUSSION OF CASE STUDIES WITH GROUP WORK WILL TAKE PLACE. |

THE KNOWLEDGE WILL BE ASSESSED THOUGH AN EXAM AND AN EVALUATION WITH GRADES FROM 18/30 TO 30/30. IT CONSISTS IN A WRITTEN EXAM DIVIDED INTO TWO PARTS, THAT IS IN THE FORM OF A MULTIPLE CHOICE TEST (WITH FOUR QUESTIONS AND ONLY ONE RIGHT ANSWER) AND 6 OPEN QUESTIONS THE STUDENT MUST GIVE SHORT ANSWERS TO. THE STUDENT WILL PASS THE MULTIPLE CHOICE EXAM, IF HE GIVES AT LEAST THE 70% OF RIGHT ANSWERS. EACH RIGHT ANSWER IS WORTH 1 AND EACH WRONG OR NOT GIVEN ANSWER IS 0. AS CONCERNS THE SHORT ANSWERS, EACH SHORT ANSWER HAS UP TO 5 POINTS. IF THE STUDENT PASS THE WRITTEN EXAM, HE WILL BE ASSESSED WITH AN ORAL EXAM IN THE FORM OF A DISCUSSION. THE TOTAL GRADE IS THE WEIGHTED MEAN OF THE WRITTEN AND OF THE ORAL GRADE. THE MULTIPLE CHOICE TEST WEIGHTS 40%, THE SHORT ANSWERS 30% AND THE ORAL EXAM 30% TOO. |
