Objectives
THE COURSE IS MEANT TO DEVELOP THE ABILITY TO ANALYSE THE BASIC CONCEPTS OF POLITICAL THEORY, PAYING SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN CIVIL SOCIETY AND STATE AND THE DIFFERENT FORMS OF GOVERNMENT AND INSTITUTIONAL

THE COURSE WILL MOVE FORWARD IN TWO DIRECTIONS AT THE SAME TIME. ON ONE SIDE THE MAIN THEORIES IN THE FIELD OF POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY WILL BE PRESENTED IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER. AT THE SAME TIME THE BASIC CONCEPTS OF CONTEMPORARY POLITICS AND THE MAIN DEMOCRATIC AND CIVIC INSTITUTIONS WILL BE ANALYTICALLY SCRUTINIZED.

LECTURES AND SEMINARS. STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO BECOME ACQUAINTED WITH THE TEXTBOOKS, BY STUDYING AND DISCUSSING THEM DURING THE COURSE
Verification of learning
THE TEST WILL CONSIST IN AN ORAL EXAMINATION, AIMED AT VERIFYING STUDENTS' COMPETENCE AND THEIR ABILITY TO MANAGE SPECIFIC SECTOR-BASED KNOWLEDGE. DURING THE EXAM THE CAPACITY TO CLEARLY COMMUNICATE THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATIONS WILL ALSO BE EVALUATED. SEMINAR ACTIVITY AND PAPERS WILL BE CONSIDERED AS PART OF THE EXAM AND THEREFORE INFLUENCE THE FINAL EVALUATION.
