Objectives
THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS COURSE IS TO GIVE A GENERAL AND COMPREHENSIVE OVERVIEW OF THE LABOUR MARKET FUNCTIONING, BOTH FROM THE INDIVIDUAL PERSPECTIVE AND IN THE INSTITUTIONAL FRAMEWORK (KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING). STUDENTS WILL LEARN TO APPLY ECONOMIC METHODOLOGY TO LABOUR MARKET PROBLEMS (APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING) AND TO ASSES IN A CRITICAL WAY THE VALIDITY OF ASSUMPTIONS AND SOLUTIONS PROPOSED . STUDENTS WILL LEARN HOW TO EFFECTIVELY ORGANIZE IDEAS BOTH IN WRITTEN AND ORAL FORM, WITH THE HELP OF PRESENTATION OF SHORT REPORTS ON SPECIFIC ISSUES DURING THE COURSE . THIS COURSE WILL ENABLE STUDENTS TO DECIDE ON RELEVANT INFORMATION TO UNDERSTAND LABOUR MARKET AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS .
