Objectives
THE MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY ITALIAN LITERATURE COURSE AIMS TO IMPROVE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE LITERARY TEXTS OF THE NINETEENTH AND TWENTIETH CENTURIES THROUGH IN-DEPTH AND DIRECT STUDY OF THE WORKS.
LECTURES WILL DEVELOP THE SKILLS OF ANALYSIS, CRITICAL INTERPRETATION, UNDERSTANDING OF DIFFERENT FORMS, GENRES AND STYLES, RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN TEXTS AND COMMUNICATION, PROVIDING THE SKILLS OF TEXTUAL INVESTIGATION, BIBLIOGRAPHIC RESEARCH AND PROCESSING OF AUTONOMOUS AND ORIGINAL JUDGMENTS, AS WELL AS THE USE OF BIBLIOGRAPHIC AND IT TOOLS.

THE STUDENT:
- WILL LEARN ABOUT THE FUNDAMENTALS AND BASIC SKILLS OF NINETEENTH / TWENTIETH-CENTURY HISTORICAL-LITERARY PRODUCTION
- WILL LEARN ABOUT AUTHORS, WORKS, LITERARY TRENDS, FORMS, GENRES AND STYLES
- WILL ACQUIRE BASIC KNOWLEDGE FOR CRITICAL AND METRIC TEXTUAL ANALYSIS
- WILL ACQUIRE BASIC KNOWLEDGE FOR PHILOLOGICAL, HISTORICAL-LITERARY RESEARCH
- WILL ACQUIRE THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN LITERARY TEXTS

- ACQUIRE THE TOOLS NECESSARY FOR UNDERSTANDING AND INTERPRETING A LITERARY TEXT

Prerequisites
HISTORICAL AND LITERARY GOOD KNOWLEDGE GAINED IN THE SECONDARY SCHOOL. BASIC SKILLS OF ANALYSIS AND SYNTHESIS OF A TEXT.

2) MODULE: READING OF TWO NOVELS.

Verification of learning
ORAL EXAMINATION.
THE EXAM WILL VERIFY THE ACQUISITION OF ITALIAN LITERATURE OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY.
1. COMPETENCE TO BE ABLE TO DRAW CONCLUSIONS FROM READING IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE ABILITY TO LEARN AND TO BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE APPROPRIATELY.
2. CRITICAL SKILLS IN READING LITERARY TEXTS, SHOWING TO BE ABLE TO DEVELOP AUTONOMOUS JUDGMENTS.
3. ABILITY TO INDEPENDENTLY UNDERTAKE THE READING OF THE LITERARY TEXT, WITH THE AIM OF UNDERSTANDING ITS REASONS, THEMES AND OVERALL MEANING.
