Objectives
ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS OF APPLICATION TO PRACTICAL CASES RELATED TO THE STRUCTURE AND NATURE OF THE CHEMICAL BONDS OF THE MAIN ORGANIC FUNCTIONAL GROUPS; RECOGNITION AND ABILITY TO REPRESENT THE CHIRAL COMPOUNDS AND IDENTIFY THE CORRECT CONFIGURATION OF THE CHIRAL CENTERS ; KNOW THE BASIC RULES OF IUPAC NOMENCLATURE OF ORGANIC COMPOUNDS AND KNOW HOW TO APPLY TO REAL COMPOUNDS; ABILITY TO PREDICT AND DESCRIBE PROPERTIES , METHODS OF PREPARATION AND REACTIVITY OF THE MAIN CLASSES OF ORGANIC MOLECULES; PREDICT AND DESCRIBE THE MECHANISMS OF THE MAIN CLASSES OF ORGANIC REACTIONS; ABILITY TO PLAN SHORT ORGANIC SYNTHESIS SEQUENCES

Teaching Methods
THE TEACHING METHOD IS BASED ON FRONTAL LESSONS AND RELIES ON THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF SLIDES PROJECTED TO GUIDE THE TRAINING AND THE ADOPTION OF TEXTS DEDICATED TO THE DEEPENING OF THE THEMES, INTERACTIVE CLASSROOM EXERCISES , IN CONSULTATION WITH THE TEACHING PROGRESSION AND PROGRESSION EXAMINATIONS.
AS PER ACADEMIC REGULATIONS , THE ATTENDANCE TO THE COURSE OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY I IS TO BE CONSIDERED COMPULSORY , THE PROCEDURES FOR VERIFICATION OF THE FREQUENCY WILL BE COMMUNICATED TO THE STUDENTS BY THE TEACHERS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE COURSE; ANY ABSENCES WHICH MAY AFFECT THE ACQUISITION OF THE STATED EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES SHOULD BE OVERCOME BY CUSTOM ACTIVITIES PREPARED BY TEACHING HOLDERS. FACILITIES SHALL BE ACCORDED TO WORKING STUDENTS ACCORDING TO THE ACADEMIC REGULATIONS
Verification of learning
DURING THE COURSE THERE WILL BE TESTS IN PROGRESS FOR SELF-ASSESSMENT (SOLVING EXERCISES)
THE FINAL ASSESSMENT WILL CONSIST OF THE PREPARATION:
- A WRITTEN TEST ACCESS TO AN ORAL EXAM FOR THOSE WHO HAVE POOR ATTENDANCE OF COURSES AND INSUFFICIENT RETURNS TO THE SELF-ASSESSMENT TESTS IN PROGRESS;
- AN ORAL EXAM FOR THOSE WHO HAVE PASSED THE SELF-ASSESSMENT TESTS DURING THE COURSE AND HAVE ATTENDED ASSIDUOUSLY THE COURSES.
- WRITTEN AND ORAL TESTS WILL BE USED TO VERIFY THE LEVEL OF LEARNING OF KNOWLEDGE, THE CORRECT TERMINOLOGY, THE CAPACITY FOR ANALYSIS, WHICH SHOULD BE THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED. THE ASSESSMENT TAKES INTO ACCOUNT A TOTAL OF: LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED; CAPACITY OF SYNTHESIS AND EXPOSURE, APPROPRIATENESS OF LANGUAGE; CAPACITY OF ANALYSIS. THE VERIFICATION PROCEDURES ARE DEEMED APPROPRIATE IN RELATION TO THE TEACHING OBJECTIVES, AND ALSO TO THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS EXPECTED. THE FINAL MARK CONSISTS OF THE AVERAGE OF THE INTERMEDIATE SCORES OBTAINED IN THE TEST / AND WRITTEN, OF THE ORAL VOTE, ALSO TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE LEARNING PROGRESS OF THE STUDENT.
THE MINIMUM VOTE FOR OVERCOMING OF EXAMINATION IS 18/30. PRAISE CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO STUDENTS WHO REACH THE MAXIMUM VOTE OF 30/30 AND DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO APPLY THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS INDEPENDENTLY
EVEN IN CONTEXTS OTHER THAN THOSE PROPOSED IN THE LESSONS.
