Objectives
LEARNING OUTCOMES AND COMPETENCE TO BE ACQUIRED:
THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE IS TO HELP STUDENTS DEVELOP THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE LANGUAGE, THE METHODS, AND THE TOOLS OF COMPUTER GRAPHICS FOR THE SURVEY OF ARCHITECTURE.
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE THE KNOWLEDGE OF DIGITAL GRAPHIC TECHNIQUES FOR THE CREATION, VISUALIZATION, PRESENTATION AND COMMUNICATION OF A GRAPHIC PROJECT OF SURVEY. ADVANCED TECHNIQUES OF MODELING WILL BE ALSO ILLUSTRATED: FROM REVERSE ENGINEERING TO VIRTUAL PROTOTYPING.
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
UNDERSTANDING THE USED TERMINOLOGY IN THE FIELD OF ARCHITECTURAL SURVEY.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
KNOWING HOW TO DEVELOP, MODELS AND DIGITAL IMAGES OF THE ARCHITECTURAL SPACE. KNOWING HOW TO INTEGRATE 2D AND 3D DATA, VECTOR AND RASTER DATA, ETC.
MAKING JUDGEMENTS:
KNOWING HOW TO IDENTIFY THE MOST APPROPRIATE METHODS TO SURVEY THE COMPLEX ARCHITECTURAL SPACES, OPTIMIZING THE PROCESS ACCORDING TO THE ANALYZED CONTEXT.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
ABILITY TO WORK IN A TEAM AND TO GRAPHICALLY EXPLAIN SURVEY TOPICS.
LEARNING SKILLS:
KNOWING HOW TO APPLY THE NEW KNOWLEDGE AND KNOW HOW TO LEARN INDEPENDENTLY THE DEVELOPMENTS IN KNOWLEDGE.
Prerequisites
FOR THE SUCCESSFUL ACHIEVEMENT OF THE TRAINING OBJECTIVES IS REQUIRED THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE BASIC ELEMENTS OF THE GRAPHIC REPRESENTATION, HISTORY OF ARCHITECTURE, BUILDING TECHNOLOGY, STRUCTURAL MECHANICS AND THE USE OF GRAPHIC SOFTWARE TO CONTROL THE THREE-DIMENSIONAL SPACE.
PREPARATORY COURSES: "STORIA DELL'ARCHITETTURA II", "INFORMATICA GRAFICA", "ARCHITETTURA TECNICA II", "STATICA" O "MECCANICA RAZIONALE".
Contents
THE COURSE CONSISTS OF TWO INTEGRATED MODULES: THE FIRST "ARCHITECTURAL SURVEY" AND THE SECOND OF "GEOMATICS SURVEYING". DURING THE " ARCHITECTURAL SURVEY " WILL DEAL WITH QUESTIONS OF SALERNO SITIES. THE SAME SUBJECT WILL BE DISCUSSED IN THE " GEOMATICS SURVEYING ": THEORETICAL/PRACTICAL PRINCIPLES OF SURVEY; PROCESSING; UNCONVENTIONAL SURVEY TECHNIQUES; 3D LASER TECHNOLOGIES. THIS TOPICS AIM TO DEVELOP THE CRITICAL-SELECTIVE CAPACITY TO IDENTIFY THE SURVEY TECHNIQUE APT TO THE SPECIFIC CASE.

Teaching Methods
THE COURSE CONSISTS OF LECTURES, LABORATORY EXERCISES AND PRACTICAL EXERCISES. THE COURSE IS BASED ALSO ON EXERCISES ON THREE-DIMENSIONAL MODELING SOFTWARE. DURING ALL LABORATORY ACTIVITIES A SURVEY THEME WILL DEVELOP. IT WILL SUMMARIZE ALL OF THE CONTENT OF TEACHING – FROM VISUAL SURVEY TO LASER SCANNING – IN ORDER TO DEVELOP CRITICAL SKILLS TO WORKING IN TEAMS.
ATTENDANCE TO THE COURSE IS COMPULSORY: THE MINIMUM PERCENTAGE OF NECESSARY PRESENCE TO SUPPORT THE EXAM IS AT 70%. THE PERCENTAGE REQUIRED WILL CHECK THROUGH THE VERIFICATION OF THE PARTICIPATION LABORATORY ACTIVITIES.
Verification of learning
THE FINAL ORAL EXAMINATION INVOLVES THE DISCUSSION ABOUT THE SURVEY ELABORATES AND THE TOPICS OF THE LECTURES.
IN THE ORAL CHECK, THE STUDENT SHOULD DEMONSTRATE TO HAVE LEARNED THE ADVANCED FEATURES OF ARCHITECTURAL SURVEY; IT WILL ALSO SHOW THE MASTERY OF THE BASES OF PHOTOGRAMMETRY. THE LEVEL OF EVALUATION TAKES INTO ACCOUNT THE RELEVANCE OF THE METHODS USED, THE COMPLETENESS AND ACCURACY, AS WELL AS THE ABILITY TO GRAPHICALLY PRESENT THE RESTITUTION.
