KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THIS COURSE IS EXPECTED TO PROVIDE THE BASIC KNOWLEDGE FOR THE COMPREHENSION OF BOTH MOTIVATIONS AND FORMS OF PUBLIC INTERVENTION IN THE ECONOMY WITH PARTICULAR EMPHASIS ON THE TRADE-OFF BETWEEN EFFICIENCY AND EQUITY PERSPECTIVES. STUDENTS ARE ADDITIONALLY EXPECTED TO LEARN THE MAIN CRITERIA CHARACTERIZING THE ORGANIZATION OF BOTH PUBLIC EXPENDITURE AND TAX REVENUE IN ADVANCED ECONOMIES. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO DESIGN AND ASSESS ECONOMIC POLICIES COMPATIBLY WITH THE TRADE-OFF BETWEEN EFFICIENCY AND EQUITY, AND TO IDENTIFY THE MACRO-ECONOMIC EFFECTS OF FISCAL POLICIES IN THE SHORT AND LONG-RUN. MAKING JUDGMENTS STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP CRITICAL SKILLS FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF ECONOMIC POLICIES IN TERMS OF EFFICIENCY AND EQUITY (SOCIAL WELFARE ANALYSIS). COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS THE HETEROGENEITY OF LEARNING ASSESSMENT PROCEDURES IMPLEMENTED AT THE END OF THIS COURSE IS EXPECTED TO IMPROVE BOTH ORAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS ABILITIES OF STUDENTS. MOSTLY, STUDENTES ARE EXPECTED TO STRONGLY IMPROVE SYNTHESIS ABILITIES IN WRITTEN MANUSCRIPTS AND THE HANDLING OF MULTIPLE CHOICE TESTS. LEARNING SKILLS THIS COURSE INTENDS TO DEVELOP THE LOGICAL SKILLS AND PSICOLOGICAL MOTIVATIONS OF STUDENTS BY THE CONTINUOUS PARALLELISM BETWEEN THEORETICAL ISSUES ANALYZED DURING THE LESSONS AND THE ECONOMIC POLICIES IMPLEMENTED BY THE "SOCIAL DECISION-MAKER" WITH RESPECT TO THE ORGANIZATION OF THE PUBLIC EXPENDITURE AND TAX REVENUE. |

ORAL AND WRITTEN EXAMINATION. COMPATIBLY WITH THE PROCEDURES IMPLEMENTED FOR THE PARTICIPATION TO GOVERNMENT JOB (OPEN) POSITIONS - WHICH REPRESENT ONE OF THE MOST RELEVANT TARGET FOR STUDENTS IN ADMINISTRATION AND ORGANIZATION SCIENCE - THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION CONSISTS OF BOTH A MULTIPLE CHOICE TEST AND A WRITTEN MANUSCRIPT. THE FINAL MARK IS DETERMINED BY (I) THE COMPREHENSION OF THE REASONS, NATURE AND MODALITIES OF PUBLIC INTERVENTION IN THE ECONOMY, (II) KNOWLEDGE OF RELEVANT TECHNICAL DEFINITIONS IN THE FIELD OF PUBLIC ECONOMICS, AND (III) COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS. |
