Objectives
THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO STUDY THE MIND AND THE HUMAN BEHAVIOUR. THE PRINCIPAL THEMES OF THE COURSE WILL BE THE HISTORY, THE METHODS OF THE SCIENTIFIC PSYCHOLOGY, PERCEPTION, MEMORY, THINKING, DECISION MAKING, PROBLEM SOLVING AND LEARNING.
FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPTS WILL BE INTRODUCED FOR BEING ABLE TO CORRECTLY APPRAISE THE HISTORY AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPTS OF COGNITIVE SCIENCES.

THIS COURSE WILL PROVIDE AN OVERVIEW OF THE BASIC THEORETICAL, METHODOLOGICAL, AND RESEARCH ISSUES IN THE FIELD OF PSYCHOLOGY AND COGNITIVE PROCESSES.
Teaching Methods
THE ARGUMENTS WILL BE DISCUSSED IN CLASS FOCUSING ON THEIR GENERAL ASPECTS AND THEORETICAL UNDERPINNINGS. STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO FURTHER THEIR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SPECIFIC AND MORE DETAILED ASPECTS OF THE TREATED ARGUMENTS THROUGH THE INDEPENDENT READING OF THE RECOMMENDED MANUALS. SOME OF LECTURES WILL BE SUPPORTED BY AUDIO-VISUAL MATERIAL.
