Objectives
1. GIVE THE STUDENTS THE KNOWLEDGE FOR A CRITICAL EVALUATION OF THE REAL EFFECTS AND FUNCTIONS OF THE COMMITTAL TO A MENTAL HOSPITAL.

2.1 KNOWLEDGE AND COMPREHENSION ABILITIES
ACHIEVE AN ADEQUATE COMPREHENSION AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE CURRENT SITUATION OF JUDICIAL PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITALS AND THEIR REAL FUNCTION.

2.2 USE OF KNOWLEDGE ABILITY.
ACHIEVE THE ABILITY TO PREDISPOSE, ORGANIZE AND MANAGE ALTERNATIVE DISPOSALS TO COMMITTAL TO A MENTAL HOSPITAL.

2.3 AUTONOMY IN CRITICAL EVALUATION
KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE REAL FUNCTIONS OF JUDICIAL PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITALS SHOULD GIVE THE STUDENTS THE ABILITIES FOR A FREE, INDEPENDENT AND AWARE EVALUATION OF SOCIAL MATTERS AND OF NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE EFFECTIVENESS.

2.4. COMMUNICATION ABILITY
STUDENT SHOULD BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE AND REPRESENT WITH ADEQUATE AND CORRECT LANGUAGE A CRITICAL EVALUATION OF THE REAL EFFECTIVENESS OF CRIMINAL LAW SYSTEM AND NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE.

2.5. LEARNING ABILITY
THE PRESENT CRIMINOLOGY LABORATORY SHOULD TEACH THE STUDENTS OF JURISPRUDENCE HOW TO DO A CRITICAL ANALISYS OF CURRENT LAW SYSTEMS ALSO BASED ON REAL DATAS.


Prerequisites
ADEQUATE KNOWLEDGE OF FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES AND RULES OF CONSTITUTIONAL LAW.

FOR THE FOREIGN STUDENTS:
- ADEQUATE KNOWLEDGE OF THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES ABOUT THE RIGHTS OF FREEDOM IN CIVIL AND COMMON LAW SYSTEMS
- SUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE OF ITALIAN LANGUAGE (READING, SPEAKING, LISTENING). ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE/SPEAK IN ENGLISH OR GERMAN OR SPANISH.

FUNDAMENTAL AND CONSTITUTIONAL PRINCIPLES OF CRIMINAL LAW SYSTEM – CRIMINAL LAW AND CRIMINAL SANCTIONS SYSTEM – CRIMINAL RESPONSIBILITY (SANITY/INSANITY) – SOCIAL DANGEROUSNESS – LEGISLATIVE PROVISION TO OVERCOME JUDICIAL PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITALS.
Teaching Methods
1. TEACHING PLANNING.
CRIMINOLOGY SEMINARS WILL INCLUDE 8 HOURS OF LECTURES, MEETINGS WITH EXPERTS IN DIFFERENT FIELDS AND PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION OF REPORTS, WORKS AND THESIS WRITTEN AND PRESENTED BY INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP OF STUDENTS.

2. TEACHING MEANS AND METHODOLOGY.
LECTURES WILL BE HELD ALSO BY USING SLIDES (FILE.PPT), FILMS AND VIDEOS.

3.TEACHING LANGUAGE
TEACHING LANGUAGE IS ITALIAN. STUDENTS WITH A SUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE OF ITALIAN LANGUAGE WILL BE ADMITTED TO LECTURES; IF STUDENTS NEED MORE ELUCIDATION, THEIR QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED IN ENGLISH, GERMAN OR SPANISH.

4. HOW TO TAKE PART
STUDENTS SHOULD REGULARLY ATTEND 8 HOURS OF LECTURES. CONTINGENT AND EXCEPTIONAL ABCENSES MUST BE CONVENIENTLY EXCUSED
Verification of learning
SPOKEN EXAMINATION AND/OR PRESENTATION OF REPORTS, WORKS AND THESIS WRITTEN AND PRESENTED BY INDIVIDUAL OR GROUPS OF STUDENTS.

DUE TO CONTINUOUS EVOLUTION OF LEGISLATIVE PROVISION ON THIS SUBJECT, BOOKS WILL BE GIVEN DURING THE LABORATORY AND STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE SOME ADDICTIONAL TEACHING MATERIALS.
