Objectives
- KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
THIS COURSE INTRODUCES STUDENTS TO BASIC CONCEPTS OF IT, TO ENSURE THEM ADEQUATE MASTERY OF LANGUAGE, THE ASPECTS OF THE OPERATION OF MODERN COMPUTERS AND SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS. IN PARTICULAR, DURING THE COURSE STUDENTS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO STUDY THE COMPONENTS OF A COMPUTER AND THE USE OF APPLICATION SOFTWARE.

- ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO USE A SYSTEMATIC APPROACH AND TO DESCRIBE THE COMPONENTS OF A COMPUTER. STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO USE THE APPLICATION SOFTWARE FOR DATA MANAGEMENT.

- JUDGEMENT
STUDENTS MUST BE ABLE TO EVALUATE AND CHOOSE THE APPROPRIATE SOFTWARE TOOLS TO BE APPLIED IN SPECIFIC CONTEXT AND OBJECTIVES.

- COMMUNICATION SKILLS
STUDENTS WILL GAIN MASTERY OF MECHANISMS AND TOOLS CHARACTERIZING THE COMMUNICATION BY COMPUTER.

- LEARNING SKILLS
THE COURSE AIMS TO DEVELOP LEARNING SKILLS OF STUDENTS ALLOWING THEM TO CONTINUALLY UPGRADE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS.
Prerequisites
NO PREREQUISITES ARE REQUIRED. IT IS RECOMMENDED THE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF USING A COMPUTER.

THE COURSE IS DIVIDED INTO TWO PARTS: ONE WILL PROVIDE THE FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPTS OF COMPUTER SCIENCE, THE OTHER WILL BE CARRIED OUT IN LABORATORY IN ORDER TO MASTER PERSONAL PRODUCTIVITY TOOLS AND TO PUT INTO PRACTICE THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED.

• INTRODUCTION TO EXCEL (MENU, DATA ENTRY, FORMATTING, FORMULAS)
• GRAPHICAL REPRESENTATION (BAR CHART, PIE CHART, BAR CHART, CARTESIAN DIAGRAM, DISPERSION, LOGARITHMIC, BOXPLOT. PIVOT TABLES.
• USING EXCEL AS DATABASE (SORTING AND FILTERING DATA)
• MEASURES OF CENTRAL TENDENCY (ARITHMETIC MEAN, GEOMETRIC, FASHION, QUARTILES AND PERCENTILES). DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICS.

• CREATING A DATABASE, RELATIONSHIPS, POPULATION, QUERY, FORMS, REPORT GENERATION
Teaching Methods
