BY PRESENTING THE MAIN THEORIES AND CONCEPTS OF SOCIOLOGY, THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH THE ABILITY TO DELINEATE THE SPECIFIC SEMANTIC FIELD OF THE CONCEPTS OF “WELL-BEING” AND “SOCIAL CHANGE” AND THEN PROVIDE THE APPROPRIATE ANALYSIS AND DESIGN IN AN APPLIED MANNER, USING VARIOUS QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE TECHNIQUES FOR DATA COLLECTION AND PROCESSING. BY THE END OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS WILL HAVE ACQUIRED THE ABILITY TO CRITICALLY READ AND ANALYZE THE SOCIOLOGICALLY RELEVANT PROCESSES AND CONDITIONS THAT INTERVENE ON THE PROCESSES OF CHANGE IN CONTEMPORARY SOCIETIES. IN PARTICULAR, STUDENTS WILL ACQUIRE CULTURAL TRAINING AND SPECIALIZED SKILLS - KNOWLEDGE OF THEORIES AND METHODOLOGICAL COMPETENCIES - TO GRASP AND CRITICALLY INTERPRET THE DYNAMICS ASSOCIATED WITH THE LINKS BETWEEN SOCIAL CHANGE AND LEVELS OF INDIVIDUAL AND SOCIAL WELL-BEING. |

THE COURSE IS DIVIDED INTO TWO PARTS, IN THE FIRST PART THE TEACHING AIMS AT THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN SOCIOLOGICAL THEORIES ABOUT "WELL-BEING" AND IN PARTICULAR THE CONDITIONS, FACTORS AND SOCIOLOGICALLY RELEVANT DYNAMICS THAT INFLUENCE THE PROCESSES OF CHANGE IN CONTEMPORARY SOCIETIES. THE SECOND PART IS DEDICATED TO THE METHODOLOGICAL AND APPLICATION ISSUES RELATED TO THE SURVEY PROCEDURES, WHICH AIM, ON THE ONE HAND, TO THE COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE TENDENCIES HOMOGENEOUS AND INHOMOGENEOUS CHARACTERISTICS BETWEEN THE DIFFERENT FORMS OF CHANGE IN THE VARIOUS SOCIAL AND CIVIL SYSTEMS; ON THE OTHER HAND, TO THE METHODS OF ANALYSIS OF THE PROGRAMS, WITH INTERNATIONAL COMPARISONS (ITALY, EUROPE, OTHER COUNTRIES), IMPLEMENTED FOR THE WELL-BEING OF THE POPULATION. |

DURING THE LECTURES, THE PRESENTATION OF THE CONTENT WILL BE SUPPORTED BY EXAMPLES AND CASE STUDY ILLUSTRATIONS. DURING THE LESSONS, THE TOPICS COVERED WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY MOMENTS OF GROUP DISCUSSION. |

VERIFICATION OF WHAT HAS BEEN LEARNED WILL BE THROUGH A FINAL ORAL EXAMINATION IN WHICH THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ACQUIRED IN THE COURSE WILL BE EVALUATED. THIRTY POINTS (MIN: 18 MAX: 30 CUM LAUDE) WILL BE AWARDED ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: KNOWLEDGE OF CONTENT, CRITICAL ABILITY, APPROPRIATENESS OF THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL REFERENCES, LINGUISTIC FEATURES AND CLARITY OF PRESENTATION. |
