LEARNING OBJECTIVES THE PRESENT COURSE REPRESENTS THE FOLLOW-UP TO THE JEAN MONNET CHAIR IN "EUROPEAN HEALTH, ENVIRONMENTAL AND FOOD SAFETY LAW", WHICH WAS AWARDED BY THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION TO THE SCHOOL OF LAW IN THE YEARS 2016-2019, CO-FUNDED BY THE EU THIS COURSE AIMS TO INTEGRATE THE BASIC COURSE OF INTERNATIONAL LAW WITH A MORE IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF INTERNATIONAL AND EUROPEAN LAW IN MATTER OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE COURSE AIMS AT ALLOWING STUDENTS TO ACQUIRE A SPECIALISTIC KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE INSTITUTIONAL ASPECTS AND THE STRUCTURE OF THE INTERNATIONAL AND EUROPEAN LEGAL ORDER IN MATTER OF HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT, EXPLAINING THEIR ORIGINS, EVOLUTION AND THE MOST RECENT NORMATIVE, INSTITUTIONAL AND JURISPRUDENTIAL DEVELOPMENTS. THIS COURSE INTENDS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH THOSE CONCEPTUAL AND METHODOLOGICAL TOOLS NECESSARY TO CORRECTLY INTERPRET AND APPLY INTERNATIONAL AND EUROPEAN HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL LAW IN THE EXERCISE OF LEGAL, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTALLY-RELATED PROFESSIONS IN ITALY AND ABROAD. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE COURSE AIMS AT ACHIEVING THE FOLLOWING APPLICATIVE CAPABILITIES: ABILITY TO EXAMINE, WITH FULL AWARENESS, THE LEGAL PROBLEMS ARISING IN THE CONTEXT OF THE INTERNATIONAL AND EUROPEAN REGULATION OF THE ABOVE-MENTIONED FIELDS AND THE SOLUTIONS PROVIDED BY INTERNATIONAL AND EU LAW; ACQUISITION OF ANALYTICAL SKILLS NECESSARY TO RESOLVE COMPLEX PROBLEMS OF EUROPEAN LAW ARISING IN NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL WORK CONTEXTS. |

THE COURSE IS SEMESTRAL AND CONSISTS OF 72 HOURS OF LESSON (LECTURES, PRACTICALS AND SEMINARS WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF TEACHERS COMING FROM FOREIGN UNIVERSITIES AND RESEARCH CENTERS). THE COURSE WILL INCLUDE A SPECIAL MODULE ON THE "EUROPEAN HEALTH LAW", TAUGHT IN ENGLISH BY PROF. TITTI MATTSSON, UNIVERSITY OF LUND (SWEDEN), VISITING PROFESSOR AT THE LAW SCHOOL DURING THE FIRST SEMESTER 2023-2024. TEACHING LANGUAGES: ITALIAN AND ENGLISH (MODULE IN ENGLISH OF 16 HOURS) |

NON-ATTENDING STUDENTS: FINAL ORAL EXAMINATION. FOR ALL STUDENTS THE EVALUATION CRITERIA OF THE ORAL EXAMINATION WILL BE THE FOLLOWING: 1) ABILITY TO DEVELOP A COMPLEX DISCOURSE; 2) ABILITY TO EXPOSE ARGUMENTS CLEARLY AND WITH APPROPRIATE TECHNICAL-LEGAL LANGUAGE; 3) ABILITY TO OFFER A SYSTEMATIC AND ORGANIC SYNTHESIS OF THE FUNDAMENTALS OF EUROPEAN HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL LAW. |
