Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH A RANGE OF KNOWLEDGE RELATED TO THE BROAD FIELD OF DISCIPLINES THAT DEAL WITH BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT, WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE CHARACTERISTICS OF LOCAL BUSINESSES. IN THIS REGARD, PARTICULAR ATTENTION WILL BE GIVEN TO THE STRATEGIC, ORGANIZATIONAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL PROBLEMS OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF ENTREPRENEURIAL ORGANIZATION.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
-UNDERSTAND THE AIMS AND THE MANAGEMENT LOGIC OF THE FIRM AT A STRATEGIC AND OPERATIONAL LEVEL
-LOOK AT THE DYNAMIC, UNITARY INTERPRETIVE MODEL OPENED TO RELATIONS WITH THE ACTORS OF THE REFERENCE.
-CLARIFY THE STRATEGIC ROLE THAT THE EXPERTS IN FOREIGN LANGUAGES MAY PERFORM IN ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXTS THROUGH A FOCUS ON THE FIRMS’ INTERNATIONALIZATION PROCESS AND THE CROSS-CULTURAL COMPETENCE
-FULLY UNDERSTAND THE SUPPORTING ROLE OF THESE FIGURES TO THE INTERNATIONALIZED FIRMS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES WITH SPECIFIC REFERENCE TO THE LOCAL BUSINESS.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
-ANALYZE THE FIRM THEORIES AND THE ROLES OF DIFFERENT INSTITUTIONS: FAMILIES, FIRMS, STATE AND NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
-IDENTIFY THE PERSPECTIVES ON BUSINESS GOALS, SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
-EVALUATE THE BUSINESS STRATEGIES (GROWTH AND COMPETITIVE STRATEGIES)
-ANALYZE THE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE OF THE FIRMS
-IDENTIFY THE INNOVATION PROCESSES’ DRIVERS AND OUTPUTS
-EFFECTIVELY NEGOTIATE IN MULTICULTURAL CONTEXTS
MAKING JUDGEMENTS
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- WORK ON A PROJECT AIMED AT ANALYZING A SELF-SELECTED COMPANY IN LINE WITH THEIR LINGUISTIC COMPETENCE/AREA
- WORK IN TEAM
- DISCUSS THE ASPECTS RELATED TO THE ANALYSES CARRIED OUT IN THE PROJECT WORK.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- EFFECTIVELY PRESENT THE PROJECT WORK THROUGH A TIMED PRESENTATION
- PRESENT THE PROJECT WORK IN WRITTEN FORM BY MEANS OF A REPORT

• THE NEGOTIATION PROCESS IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS.
• THE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE OF THE FIRMS.
• STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT OF TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION PROCESSES.
Teaching Methods
LECTURES (28 HOURS), SEMINARS AND TESTIMONIALS (8 HOURS), STUDY GROUPS DEVOTED TO EXERCISES AND PROJECT WORK (9 HOURS).
Verification of learning
THE LEARNING ASSESSMENT WILL BE ORAL AND WRITTEN. IT CONTAINS THE TOPICS FACED IN THE CLASSROOM AND LEARNED FROM THE REFERENCE TEXTS. THE WRITTEN MODE CONSISTS OF THE ASSIGNMENT OF A PROJECT WORK ON THE THEMES TREATED BY THE PROFESSOR AND THE INVITED EXPERTS (ENTREPRENEURS AND / MANAGERS AND / OR CONSULTANTS). IT WILL BE SUBJECT TO A PRESENTATION BY STUDENTS ON A SPECIFIC DATE. THE PRESENTATION AND THE FINAL REPORT OF THE ENTIRE PROJECT WORK WILL BE ASSESSED. THE OVERALL ASSESSMENT, THEREFORE, WILL CONSIDER THE ORAL EXAMINATION, THE PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT WORK AND THE FINAL REPORT.
