THE COURSE RELAYS ADVANCED TOOLS OF ANALYSIS THAT ALLOW TO UNDERSTAND THE MAIN PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE ROLE AND TO THE LIMITS OF THE PUBLIC INTERVENTION IN THE ECONOMY. THE CHOICES OF ECONOMIC POLICY ARE ANALYZED BOTH FROM A POSITIVE POINT OF VIEW AND FROM A NORMATIVE PERSPECTIVE. BY THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO CLEARLY IDENTIFY THE KIND OF THE PUBLIC OPERATOR’S CHOICES AND TO UNDERLINE THEIR IMPACT ON THE ECONOMIC SYSTEM, THROUGH THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED STUDYING THE MORE ADVANCED MODELS OF ECONOMIC THEORY. BY ATTENDING THE COURSE AND USING THE TRAINING AID, THE STUDENTS WILL DEVELOP THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND AND TO EVALUATE ANY KIND OF ECONOMIC POLICY AND TO DISCUSS IT FROM A CRITICAL POINT OF VIEW, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE RECENT DEBATES CONCERNING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE ECONOMIC POLICIES. THE STUDENTS WILL ACQUIRE ALL THE TOOLS IN ORDER TO DELINEATE, IN EXHAUSTIVE WAY, THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DIFFERENT ECONOMIC POLICIES AS WELL AS THE FUNDAMENTAL PECULIARITIES THAT DETERMINE HOW THEY WORK. FURTHERMORE THE STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO DESCRIBE THE BEHAVIOR OF THE PUBLIC OPERATOR AND THE PRINCIPLES THAT INSPIRE HIS INTERVENTION IN THE ECONOMIC SYSTEM. THE STUDENTS WILL GAIN USEFUL KNOWLEDGE OF THE VARIOUS THEORETICAL AND OPERATIONAL TOOLS THAT CAN BE USED TO IDENTIFY THE MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ECONOMIC POLICY DECISIONS. MOREOVER THEY WILL BE ABLE TO RECOGNIZE THE CRITICAL SITUATIONS FOR WHICH IT IS NECESSARY THE PUBLIC INTERVENTION IN THE ECONOMIC SYSTEM. |
