LEARNING SKILLS
MODELLING METHODS AND TECHNIQUES, VIRTUAL PROTOTYPING AND PRODUCT PLAN DEVELOPMENT FOR AN INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT, CAD MODELLING, MODELLING METHODS AND REPRESENTATION SCHEMES. DIGITAL HUMAN MODELLING IN HUMAN CENTRED DESIGN, ERGONOMICS AND COMFORT EVALUATION.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
ALPHABET AND LANGUAGE FOR VIRTUAL PROTOTYPING EAND FOR 2D AND 3D VIRTUAL DESIGN. KNOWLEDGE OF THE LATEST PLM (PRODUCT LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT) TECHNIQUES,

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
BE SKILLED IN MODELLING IN 3D CAD AND IN DHM ENVIRONMENTS. HMI MODELLING AND EVALUATIONS; BE SKILLED TO MODEL AND ANALYZE AN INTERACTION BETWEEN HUMANS AND ARTEFACTS. BE SKILLED ABOUT MATHEMATICAL FUNCTIONS UNDERLYING THE DHM AND THE CAD MODELERS.

MAKING JUDGEMENTS
BE ABLE TO INDIVIDUATE MOST APPROPRIATE METHODS FOR DESIGNING AND IMPROVING AN INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT/PROCESS. BE ABLE TO MAKE THE BETTER CHOICE AMONG COMMERCIAL SOFTWARE IN VIRTUAL DESIGN IN TERMS OF EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS.

COMMUNICATION
BE ABLE TO WORK IN GROUP AND TO EXPLAIN AND PRESENT WITH THE RIGHT LANGUAGE (SPECIFIC TERMS AND WORDS) A TOPIC INHERENT TO VIRTUAL DESIGN ONES. TO BE ABLE TO DEVELOP A DESIGN PROCESS BY USING THE RIGHT HARDWARE/SOFTWARE AND TO KNOW THE RIGHT NOUNS IN ITALIAN AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE.

LIFELONG LEARNING SKILLS
TO BE ABLE TO APPLY AND USE THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE IN DIFFERENT FRAMEWORKS AND TO APPLY THE METHODS AND THE TECHNIQUES IN OTHER FIELD OF STUDY/RESEARCH/APPLICATION.
Prerequisites
IN ORDER TO BETTER FOLLOW THE LESSONS, IT'S USEFUL TO KNOW THE EUCLIDIAN/CARTESIAN GEOMETRY AND THE MATHEMATICAL FUNCTION (ALGEBRAIC AND DIFFERENTIAL).
BOTH 2D CAD AND 3D CAD SKILLS SHOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Teaching Methods
FRONTAL LESSONS, IN-AULA EXERCISES BY USING COMPUTER, LABORATORY EXPERIENCE ABOUT INSTRUMENTS FOR ACQUIRING DATA FOR ERGONOMICS/COMFORT ANALYSIS. DEVELOPMENT OF AN ASSIGNED PROJECT IN GROUP WITH BRAIN-STORMING TECHNIQUES AND LIKE-COMPANY STRUCTURED TEAM WORKING.
LESSONS WILL BE GIVEN, IF NEEDED, ALSO IN BLENDED LEARNING OR IN SYNCHRONOUS E-LEARNING.
Verification of learning
DISCUSSION OF A DESIGN PROJECT AND ORAL DEFENCE. DISCUSSION ABOUT LESSONS' TOPICS WITH A SPECIAL FOCUS ON DESIGN METHODS AND THEIR USE, ON THE PRODUCT/PROCESS DEVELOPMENT PLAN, ON MODELLING AND REPRESENTATION METHODS, ALSO IN VR/AR, ON ERGONOMIC ASSESSMENT AND COMFORT ASSESSMENT METHODS.
MARKS ARE IN THIRTIETHS; 18/30 IS GIVEN TO STUDENT THAT SHOWS A SUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCE IN PROJECT DISCUSSION AND IS ABLE TO GIVE ANSWERS TO THREE OF THE FIVE QUESTIONS USUALLY ASKED DURING THE ORAL EXAM. 30/30 IS GIVEN TO STUDENT THAT SHOWS A COMPLETE KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCE IN PROJECT DISCUSSION AND IS ABLE TO GIVE ANSWERS TO ALL FIVE QUESTIONS USUALLY ASKED DURING THE ORAL EXAM. PRISE (30 CUM LAUDE) IS GIVEN TO STUDENTS WITH A VERY HIGH PREPARATION LEVEL THAT SHOWS HIGH TECHNICAL LANGUAGE SKILLS, ALSO IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE, AND A SELF-DEEPENING OF THE TOPICS REGARDNG CAD MATHEMATICAL MODELLING AND REPRESENTATION.
