Objectives
AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH A SOLID KNOWLEDGE OF SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF THE TEACHING OF ITALIAN LANGUAGE AND TO REFLECT ON WHICH TYPE OF ITALIAN IS BEST TO TEACH (STANDARD, NEO-STANDARD, ACADEMIC) AND HOW TO TEACH IT.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT:
- WILL ACQUIRE THE BASIS OF TEACHING OF ITALIAN LANGUAGE;
- WILL REINFORCE THE COMPETENCE OF THE ITALIAN LANGUAGE, AT A COMMUNICATIVE, LINGUISTIC AND METALINGUISTIC LEVEL;
- WILL FOCUS ON DEVELOPING LANGUAGE SKILLS, ON METALINGUISTIC REFLECTION, ON LEXICON LEARNING, ON TEXT TYPOLOGY, ON LINGUISTIC AND COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- MASTER THE LINGUISTIC CONTENTS AT THE BASIS OF ITALIAN TEACHING;
- BUILD CONSISTENT LEARNING PATHS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF LINGUISTIC SKILLS; - IDENTIFY OBJECTIVES, TOOLS AND TEACHING METHODS FOR EACH TOPIC;
- USE THE APPROPRIATE SCIENTIFIC TERMINOLOGY.

MAKING JUDGEMENTS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO EVALUATE AND CRITICALLY EXAMINE VARIOUS TEACHING METHODS AND TEACHING MATERIALS IN DIFFERENT EDUCATIONAL CONTEXTS.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO CLEARLY AND CORRECTLY PRESENT THE LEARNT CONTENTS

LEARNING SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- DEVELOP CRITICAL THINKING;
- SHARE INFORMATION, HYPOTHESES, LINGUISTIC PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS ON TEACHING OF ITALIAN LANGUAGE;
- USE TRADITIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS AND DIGITAL RESOURCES.
Prerequisites
A GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF THE STRUCTURES OF THE ITALIAN GRAMMAR.

B) PROBLEMS CONCERNING THE GRAMMATICAL NORM, NEOSTANDARD ITALIAN

C) VARIATIONS IN THE REPERTORY

D) TEXTUAL TYPOLOGIES

E) TEACHING ITALIAN AT SCHOOL

F) TRAINING TEACHERS OF ITALIAN

G) ITALIAN AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

H) CONSIDERATIONS ABOUT THE USE OF ITALIAN IN THE NEW MILLENIUM
Teaching Methods
LECTURES, COLLABORATIVE PLENARY DISCUSSIONS, GUIDED OBSERVATION OF DATA, PRACTICAL EXERCISES.
THE COURSE IS ESSENTIALLY BASED ON FRONTAL TEACHING. DURING THE LESSONS HAS BEEN PLANNED THE SCREENING OF SLIDES TO SHOW GRAPHICS, LAYOUTS AND EXAMPLES CONCERNING THE TOPICS OF THE TEXTBOOKS.

Verification of learning
THE ASSESSMENT OF THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ACQUIRED WILL BE DONE THROUGH A WRITTEN TEST (TIME ALLOTTED: ONE HOUR).

THE EXAM IS DESIGNED TO ASSESS THE LEVEL ACHIEVED BY THE STUDENT IN THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE THEORETICAL TOOLS PROVIDED DURING THE COURSE AND THEIR APPLICATION TO TEXTS AND REAL LANGUAGE DATA.
