Objectives
THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO DEEPEN THE LITERARY KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED WITH THE THREE-YEAR (OR FOUR-YEAR) DEGREE AND TO PROVIDE SKILLS MORE SUITABLE FOR GUIDING TEXTUAL ANALYSES, WITH A VIEW TO TEACHING THE WAYS AND TIMES OF COMPREHENSION AND LEARNING - BY READERS AND LEARNERS - OF THE COMPLEX VERBAL MECHANISMS, POLYSEMOUS STRUCTURES AND INTERTEXTUALITY OF ITALIAN LITERARY TEXTS ALSO IN THE EUROPEAN LITERARY CONTEXT.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT WILL LEARN:
- UNDERSTAND THE LITERARY TEXT, IN PROSE AND VERSE, FROM A HISTORICAL AND LINGUISTIC POINT OF VIEW;
- GET TO KNOW THE VARIOUS HERMENEUTIC APPROACHES TO THE LITERARY TEXT AND THE MAIN METHODOLOGICAL ORIENTATIONS IN THE TEACHING OF ITALIAN LITERATURE.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT ACQUIRES THE ABILITY TO DEVELOP TEACHING MODULES OF VARIOUS TYPES (CULTURAL-HISTORICAL, THEMATIC, ENCOUNTER WITH THE WORK, LITERARY GENRE, AUTHOR PORTRAIT, ETC.).

MAKING JUDGEMENTS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- CRITICALLY-COMPARATIVELY ANALYSE THE MAIN LITERATURE TEXTBOOKS IN USE IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS;
- ASSESS THE EDUCATIONAL PREREQUISITES NECESSARY FOR THE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF LEARNING ITALIAN LITERATURE.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO REPORT IN A CORRECT, COHERENT AND ARTICULATE FORM FACTS, CONCEPTS, PROBLEMS, INTERPRETATIONS AND OPINIONS OF THEIR OWN AND OTHERS.

LEARNING SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- KNOW AND MAKE APPROPRIATE USE OF THE MAIN ITALIAN LITERATURE TEACHING TOOLS (MANUALS, ANTHOLOGIES, DATABASES, DIGITAL TEXTS AND HYPERTEXTS, E-LEARNING PLATFORMS, ETC.).
Prerequisites
GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF ITALIAN LITERATURE ACQUIRED IN THE FIRST CYCLE DEGREE OF UNIVERSITY STUDIES.
Contents
THE COURSE IS AIMED TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ AWARENESS ABOUT THE MEANING OF TEACHING LITERATURE IN CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY. THE TEACHING ACTIVITY WILL BE EXPLAINED WITH PRACTICAL EXAMPLES OF DIFFERENT APPROACHES TO LITERARY TEXTS. THE COURSE IS BASESD ON SEVERAL TEACHING MODULES, SUCH AS THEMATIC TEXT ANALYSIS, STRUCTURAL TEXT ANALYSIS, ANALYISIS OF LITERARY GENRE, AUTHOR’S PORTRAIT, STUDY OF HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL BACKGROUND.
