THE COURSE AIMS TO INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO THE MAIN PHONETIC, GRAMMATICAL, LEXICAL AND MORPHOSYNTACTIC ASPECTS OF THE SPANISH LANGUAGE, AS WELL AS PROVIDING THE NECESSARY TOOLS FOR ORAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING -KNOWLEDGE OF THE BASIC MORPHOSYNTACTIC ASPECTS OF THE SPANISH LANGUAGE; -ABILITY TO PRODUCE AND UNDERSTAND BRIEF AND COHERENT TEXTS ON EVERYDAY TOPICS; -BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF TEXTS; -ACHIEVEMENT OF LEVEL B1 OF THE COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING -ABILITY TO USE THE SPANISH LANGUAGE IN A VARIETY OF EVERYDAY SITUATIONS; -UNDERSTANDING OF ORAL AND WRITTEN TEXTS ON DIFFERENT TOPICS; -ABILITY TO TRANSLATE BRIEF CONTRASTIVE TEXTS; MAKING JUDGEMENTS -ABILITY TO REFLECT ON THE MECHANISMS OF THE SPANISH LANGUAGE; -ABILITY TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN BOTH COLLOQUIAL AND ACADEMIC REGISTERS. - DEVELOP SIMPLE NARRATIVE AND DESCRIPTIVE TEXTS. COMMUNICATION SKILLS -ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE IN STANDARD SPANISH ON EVERYDAY TOPICS; -UNDERSTANDING THE MAIN POINTS OF ORAL AND WRITTEN MESSAGES; -ABILITY TO HAVE A CONVERSATION ON EVERYDAY TOPICS. SYSTEMATISATION AND PRACTICE OF THE MAIN PHONETIC, GRAMMATICAL, FUNCTIONAL NOTIONAL AND LEXICAL ASPECTS, WITH LANGUAGE EXAMPLES TAKEN FROM EVERYDAY LIFE. THE COURSE DEVOTES SPECIAL ATTENTION TO CONTRASTIVE ASPECTS AND THE DIFFICULTIES USUALLY ENCOUNTERED BY ITALIAN SPEAKERS STUDYING SPANISH. INTRODUCTION TO ACADEMIC WRITING AND TEXT TYPES WITH SPECIAL ATTENTION TO NARRATION AND DESCRIPTION. THE COURSE IS DIVIDED INTO THREE TYPES OF CLOSELY RELATED ACTIVITIES A) SYSTEMATIC ANALYSIS OF THE LANGUAGE IN ITS PHONETIC AND INTONATIVE, MORPHOSYNTACTIC, NOTIONAL-FUNCTIONAL AND LEXICAL ASPECTS WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO ITALIAN-SPANISH CONTRASTIVE PROBLEMS COMPLEMENTED WITH ASSISTED STUDY AND LINGUISTIC EXERCISES HELD BY LINGUISTIC COLLABORATORS: HISTORY OF THE SPANISH LANGUAGE (3 HOURS) THE NOMINAL SYNTAGMA (12 HOURS + 20 HOURS OF EXERCISES): THE SYLLABLE AND THE ACCENT; THE NOUN, TYPES OF NOUNS, GENDER AND NUMBER; THE ADJECTIVE: POSITION, DEGREES OF THE ADJECTIVE; THE NOUN DETERMINATION; PERSONAL PRONOUNS SUBJECT AND COMPLEMENT, HAY /ESTÁ-ESTÁN. THE COURSE WILL BE ORGANIZED INTO TWO PARTS: A) GRAMMAR AND INTRODUCTION TO REFLECTION ON THE FUNCTIONING OF THE LANGUAGE; INTRODUCTION TO THE STUDY OF ACADEMIC WRITING. B) PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF PART A). MODULE A) IS CARRIED OUT WITH LECTURES IN THE CLASSROOM (COMMITMENT OF 45 HOURS FOR THE STUDENT). MODULE B) PRACTICAL LANGUAGE STUDY INCLUDES 80 HOURS OF EXERCISES GUIDED BY LANGUAGE COLLABORATORS AND 40 HOURS OF SELF-LEARNING ACTIVITIES GUIDED BY THE TEACHER. ATTENDANCE METHOD: ALTHOUGH NOT MANDATORY, ATTENDANCE AT THE COURSE AND EXERCISES IS DETERMINING. STUDENTS WHO HAVE ATTENDED 80% OF THE COURSE WILL BE CONSIDERED AS ATTENDING. STUDENTS WHO CANNOT ATTEND LESSONS FOR SERIOUS REASONS WILL HAVE TO AGREE WITH THE TEACHER ON SUPPLEMENTARY EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES. TEACHING LANGUAGE: ITALIAN IN THE FIRST LESSONS AND EXERCISES. WRITTEN AND ORAL EXAM WITH SINGLE MARK. ATTENDING STUDENTS: THE EXAM INCLUDES TWO MID-TERM WRITTEN TESTS AND ONE ORAL EXAM WITH A SINGLE FINAL MARK. PASSING THE WRITTEN TESTS IS A FUNDAMENTAL REQUIREMENT TO BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE ORAL TEST. THE FIRST WRITTEN TEST CONSISTS OF THREE PARTS (THE RELATIVE SCORE IS INDICATED IN THIRTIETHS IN THE PERENTESES) GRAMMAR QUESTIONS (20/30), TRANSLATION OF SENTENCES FROM ITALIAN TO SPANISH (6/30), LISTENING TEST (4/30 ). THE SECOND WRITTEN TEST CONSISTS OF GRAMMAR QUESTIONS (12/30), TRANSLATION OF SENTENCES FROM ITALIAN TO SPANISH (6/30), DEVELOPMENT OF A NARRATIVE-DESCRIPTIVE THEME (8/30), WRITTEN COMPREHENSION TEST (4/ 30). NON-ATTENDING STUDENTS: THE EXAM INCLUDES A WRITTEN TEST AND AN ORAL TEST WITH A SINGLE FINAL GRADE. PASSING THE WRITTEN TEST IS A FUNDAMENTAL REQUIREMENT TO BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE ORAL TEST.
