Objectives
THIS COURSE IS AIMED AT PROVIDING THE ESSENTIAL ANALYTIC TOOLS TO EXAMINE SPECIFIC TOPICS OF INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS AND OF REAL ECONOMIC INTEGRATION. THE COURSE IS A COMBINATION OF THE ANALYSIS OF THE THEORY OF TRADE AND INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC POLICY AND OF SPECIFIC CASE STUDIES, WITHIN AN ANALYTIC FRAMEWORK WHICH EMPHASIZES THE LINKS BETWEEN INTERNATIONAL TRADE, FACTOR MOBILITY AND MACRO AND MICROECONOMIC POLICIES.
THE BASIC THEORETICAL AND EMPIRICAL KNOWLEDGE OF FIRM INTERNATIONATIONALISATION WILL ALSO BE ACHIEVED WITH A SPECIFIC DATA ANALYSIS ON THE ITALIAN CASE.
ON A PROFESSIONAL GROUND, THE COURSE IS AIMED AT DEVELOPING STUDENTS WITH A STRONG KNOWLEDGE OF THE INTERNATIONAL ECONOMY AND WITH A VOCATION TO OCCUPY JOB POSITIONS WITHIN THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS AGENCIES AND ORGANIZATIONS.
Prerequisites
THE ATTENDANCE OF THE COURSE ENTAILS A SPECIFIC BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE OF INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS, MICRO, MACROECONOMICS AND MATH AND STATISTICS. A GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH IS ALSO REQUIRED AS MOST OF THE STUDY MATERIAL IS IN ENGLISH.

FINAL ASSESSMENT:
THE ASSESSMENT IS BASED ON AN ORAL EXAMINATION AND ON A PRESENTATION AND AN ESSAY DURING THE COURSE ON A SPECIFIC TOPIC BASED ON A LIST OF ARTICLES WHICH IS PROVIDED EVERY YEAR AT THE BEGINNING OF THE COURSE. THIS ADDITIONAL MATERIAL IS PROVIDED AT THE STUDENTS DURING THE COURSE.
