Objectives
GENERAL LEARNING OUTCOMES:
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE KNOWLEDGE OF THE CONTENTS AND THEMES COMMON TO THE LITERATURES AND ARTS OF DIFFERENT NATIONAL CONTEXTS.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
STUDENTS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW:
- THE NETWORK OF RELATIONSHIPS AMONG THE SO CALLED NATIONAL LITERATURES;
- THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN LITERATURE AND THE ARTS (IN PARTICULAR PERFORMING ARTS);
- SOME OF THE MAIN METHODOLOGIES OF LITERARY STUDIES.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- IMPROVE THEIR UNDERSTANDING OF MAJOR LITERARY PHENOMENA;
- HANDLE THE BASIC TOOLS OF LITERARY PRODUCTION IN DIFFERENT NATIONAL CONTEXTS;
- ANALYZE THE COMMON DISSEMINATION OF THEMES, FORMS AND GENRES IN DIFFERENT LITERATURES.

MAKING JUDGMENTS:
STUDENTS WILL ACQUIRE THE ABILITY TO AUTONOMOUSLY ANALYZE THE SOURCES OF THE DISCIPLINE AND APPRECIATE THE VALUE AND ORIGINALITY OF SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED AT DIFFERENT LEVELS IN PROFESSIONAL AND NONPROFESSIONAL CONTEXTS, MASTERING THE LANGUAGE OF THE DISCIPLINE AND ADOPTING THE MOST APPROPRIATE REGISTER.

LEARNING SKILLS:
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND COMPLEX TEXTS AND SELECT AND USE BOTH TRADITIONAL AND ONLINE BIBLIOGRAPHICAL TOOLS IN ORDER TO UPGRADE THEIR KNOWLEDGE.

ORAL EXAM. STUDENTS WILL DEMONSTRATE TO BE ABLE TO: DISCUSS THE TEXTS AND THE THEMES OF THE COURSE; EXPRESS THEMSELVES CLEARLY AND FLUENTLY IN ITALIAN; READ AND UNDERSTAND CHOSEN PASSAGES IN ITALIAN FROM THE PRIMARY TEXTS INCLUDED IN THE READING LIST; RELATE AUTHORS AND TEXTS TO THEIR HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXT; SELECT AND MEMORIZE THE MOST SIGNIFICANT DATA.
