LEARNING OUTCOMES AND COMPETENCES TO BE ACQUIRED:
EXPAND KNOWLEDGE RELATED TO THE LANGUAGE, METHODS, AND INFOGRAPHIC TOOLS FOR ARCHITECTURAL SURVEYING. PROVIDE ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE OF THE DIGITAL GRAPHIC TECHNIQUES SUITABLE FOR THE CREATION, VISUALIZATION, PRESENTATION AND COMMUNICATION OF A GRAPHIC SURVEYING PROJECT. LEARN THE LATEST DIGITAL MODELING TECHNIQUES, FROM VIRTUAL TOURS TO REVERSE ENGINEERING. ACQUIRE THEORETICAL/PRACTICAL SURVEY PRINCIPLES AND PROCEDURES; RESTITUTION; NON-CONVENTIONAL SURVEY TECHNIQUES; 3D LASER TECHNOLOGIES. LEARN TO STRATEGICALLY DEVELOP CRITICAL SELECTION SKILLS TO IDENTIFY THE APPROPRIATE SURVEY TECHNIQUE FOR EACH SPECIFIC CASE.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING SKILLS:
UNDERSTAND THE METHODOLOGIES AND TECHNIQUES USED IN ARCHITECTURAL SURVEYING.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
KNOW HOW TO DEVELOP, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONVENTIONAL CODIFIED STANDARDS, GRAPHICAL SURVEY MODELS.

AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT:
KNOW HOW TO IDENTIFY THE MOST APPROPRIATE METHODS TO CARRY OUT THE SURVEY OF AN ARCHITECTURAL ARTIFACT, OPTIMIZING THE REPRESENTATION PROCESS.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
KNOW HOW TO WORK IN GROUPS AND PRESENT, BOTH ORALLY AND GRAPHICALLY, A SURVEY PROJECT; KNOW HOW TO DESCRIBE THE TOPICS COVERED.

LEARNING SKILLS:
BE ABLE TO AUTONOMOUSLY DEEPEN THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED AND TO LEARN NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN KNOWLEDGE.
Prerequisites
KNOWLEDGE OF THE ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF GRAPHIC REPRESENTATION, GRAPHIC INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, ARCHITECTURAL HISTORY, TECHNICAL ARCHITECTURE, STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING, AND THE USE OF GRAPHIC SOFTWARE FOR RIGOROUS CONTROL OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL SPACE ARE REQUIRED FOR THE SUCCESSFUL ACHIEVEMENT OF THE TRAINING GOALS.
Contents
THE COURSE INCLUDES THEORETICAL STUDIES ON TWO INTEGRATED ASPECTS OF THE SUBJECT "ANALOG SURVEYING" AND "DIGITAL SURVEYING" (3 HOURS OF LESSONS). WITHIN "ANALOG SURVEYING", SOME ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE OF NATIONAL AND/OR INTERNATIONAL INTEREST WILL BE USED AS A CASE STUDY AND WILL BE REPRESENTED THROUGH THE DRAWING FROM LIFE; THE HISTORICAL KNOWLEDGE WILL ALSO BE EXPLORED (9 HOURS LECTURE). THE SAME CASE STUDY WILL BE THE SUBJECT OF "DIGITAL SURVEYING", WHERE THE THEORETICAL/PRACTICAL PRINCIPLES, SURVEYING PROCEDURES, AND RESTITUTION PHASES WILL BE ILLUSTRATED (12 HOURS OF LESSONS), FOLLOWED BY AN IN-DEPTH STUDY OF NON-CONVENTIONAL SURVEYING TECHNIQUES AND 3D LASER TECHNOLOGIES. CONTENTS AIMED AT DEVELOPING THE CRITICAL-SELECTIVE CAPACITY TO IDENTIFY THE APPROPRIATE TOPOGRAPHIC TECHNIQUE FOR EACH SPECIFIC CASE (12 HOURS OF LESSONS). FINALLY, SKILLS WILL BE DEVELOPED FOR THE CREATION AND MANAGEMENT OF GRAPHIC CODES TO ANALYZE THE ARCHITECTURAL SPACE THROUGH CLASSROOM EXERCISES (14 HOURS OF CLASSROOM EXERCISES) AND PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES THAT ALSO INCLUDE AN IN-DEPTH UNDERSTANDING OF THE HISTORICAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE INVESTIGATED (10 HOURS OF WORKSHOP ACTIVITIES).
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE INCLUDES THEORETICAL LESSONS (3 CFU), CLASSROOM EXERCISES (2 CFU), AND WORKSHOP ACTIVITIES (1 CFU). THE COURSE IS COMPLEMENTED BY THREE-DIMENSIONAL MODELING SOFTWARE EXERCISES. DURING THE WORKSHOP ACTIVITIES, A SURVEY THEME WILL BE PERFORMED THAT WILL SUMMARIZE ALL THE CONTENTS OF THE COURSE - FROM VISUAL SURVEY TO LASER SCANNING - THUS DEVELOPING CRITICAL AND TEAMWORK SKILLS.
ATTENDANCE TO THE COURSE IS COMPULSORY: THE MINIMUM ATTENDANCE PERCENTAGE REQUIRED TO TAKE THE EXAM IS 70% (ACCORDING TO EDUCATIONAL REGULATIONS). THE PROFESSOR WILL VERIFY THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE REQUIRED ATTENDANCE PERCENTAGE BOTH THROUGH THE ELECTRONIC REGISTER AND BY CHECKING THE PARTICIPATION DURING THE EXERCISES AND LABORATORY ACTIVITIES, CONFIRMED BY THE PROFESSOR'S SIGNATURE ON THE WORK DONE IN THE CLASSROOM.
Verification of learning
TEACHING WITH A FINAL EXAM AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER. THERE ARE ALSO: GRAPHIC TESTS AND IN-PROGRESS TESTS. THE EXAM, WHICH IS ORAL, INCLUDES THE DISCUSSION OF THE TOPOGRAPHIC PROJECT AND A COLLOQUIUM ON THE TOPICS OF THE THEORETICAL LESSONS. THE COLLOQUIUM AIMS AT TESTING THE ABILITY TO USE DIGITAL GRAPHIC TECHNIQUES AND TOOLS FOR THE REALIZATION, VISUALIZATION, PRESENTATION, AND COMMUNICATION OF A SURVEYING GRAPHIC PROJECT. THE LEVEL OF EVALUATION OF THE TESTS TAKES INTO ACCOUNT THE RELEVANCE OF THE TECHNIQUES AND PROCEDURES USED, THE COMPLETENESS AND ACCURACY OF THE ANSWERS, AND THE ABILITY TO PRESENT ORALLY AND GRAPHICALLY EXAMPLES RELATED TO THE TOPICS COVERED.
THE MINIMUM EVALUATION (18) IS ATTRIBUTED WHEN THE STUDENT IS ABLE TO PERFORM THE ASSIGNED PRACTICAL EXERCISES.
THE HIGHEST EVALUATION (30) IS AWARDED WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES THE ABILITY TO CONSCIOUSLY USE INFOGRAPHIC PROCEDURES AND TOOLS FOR SURVEY DESIGN.
THE PRAISE IS AWARDED WHEN THE CANDIDATE DEMONSTRATES AN ABSOLUTE MASTERY OF THE THEORETICAL AND APPLIED CONTENTS, THE ABILITY TO CORRELATE THE VARIOUS SUBJECTS DEALT WITH IN A TRANSVERSAL MANNER, AND TO INTEGRATE ACQUIRED SURVEY AND GRAPHIC RESTITUTION TECHNIQUES IN AN AUTONOMOUS MANNER.
