Objectives
THE TEACHING IS AIMED TO AN UPPER INTERMEDIATE COMMUNICATION COMPETENCE IN ORDER TO DISCUSS SOCIO-CULTURAL ASPECTS FROM FRANCOPHONE COUNTRIES THROUGH COMPARATIVE FRENCH-ITALIAN CONSIDERATIONS, TO REACH STUDENTS TO DEVELOP THE FOUR COMPETENCES (WRITTEN AND ORAL COMPREHENSION AND PRODUCTION) AT B2 LEVEL OF THE COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK. AN ABILITY IS EXPECTED TO APPLY THE STUDIED RULES, TO UNDERSTAND AND COMMUNICATE, TO READ, TRANSLATE AND ANALYSE THE TEXTS OF THE PROGRAM, FOCUSING ON GRAMMAR RULES TO APPLY INDEPENDENTLY IN A FREE OR DONE EXERCISE THANKS TO A RICH AND ELABORATED VOCABULARY. STUDENTS HAVE TO SHOW TOOLS OF PRAGMATICS, SOCIOLINGUISTICS AND DISCOURSE ANALYSIS FOR A CRITICAL APPROACH TO LANGUAGE, ISSUES AND SPECIALIZED TEXTS, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO MEDIA AND POLITICAL LANGUAGE. THEY HAVE TO SHOW TO UNDERSTAND AND USE SELF-CONFIDENTLY EVERYDAY EXPRESSIONS AND SPECIALIZED LANGUAGE, TO RECOGNISE THE CORRECT LEARNING IN A EUROPEAN LANGUAGE AT A WORLDWIDE DIFFUSION TO AFFIRM ONE'S OWN IDEAS.
Prerequisites
THE MODULE OF LANGUAGE, CULTURE AND INSTITUTIONS OF FRENCH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES I IS PREPARATORY TO THE MODULE OF LANGUAGE, CULTURE AND INSTITUTIONS OF FRENCH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES II. TO GET THE WRITTEN TEXT OF THE SECOND YEAR IT IS NECESSARY TO HAVE PASSED THE FRENCH I EXAM.

THE APPROACH TO THE LINGUISTIC STRUCTURES IS MADE THROUGH READING AND TRANSLATION, AS WELL AS GRAMMAR ANALYSIS, OF TEXTS CHOOSEN TO REACH THE OBJECTIVES AS WELL AS SPECIFIC ASPECTS OF FRENCH CULTURE AND THE ORGANIZATION ASPECTS IN MULTICULTURAL AND DIFFERENT WORK SETTINGS.
AT THE END STUDENTS MUST SHOW:
A) THE ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND COMPREHENSION :
1. TO UNDERSTAND AND CLEARLY COMMUNICATE;
2. TO READ AND PERFECTLY TRANSLATE AND ANALYZE TEXTS OF THE PROGRAM;
3. TO FOCUS ON GRAMMAR STRUCTURES APPLYING THEM INDEPENDENTLY IN A FREE OR DONE EXERCISE WITH A RICH VOCABULARY

B) A SELF-JUDGEMENT ABILITY:
AT THE END OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO EXPRESS AND DEFEND THEIR OPINION ABOUT CONCERNING SPECIFIC TOPICS (SPORT, POLITICS, ECONOMICS, HISTORY) WITH A PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO PRONUNCIATION AND LEXIS;
1.TO EXPRESS AND DEBATE WITH A SPEAKER DEFENDING THEIR OWN POSITION, MOVING ALL AROUND THE CONFLICT AND SHOWING ARGUMENTATIVE AND DIPLOMATIC ABILITIES, USING LINGUISTIC REGISTERS AND RIGHT CONNECTORS;

2. TO SHOW PRODUCTION ABILITY IN FRENCH AND FROM ITALIAN TO FRENCH;

3.TO RECOGNISE AND SHOW THE CORRECT LEARNING IN A EUROPEAN LANGUAGE AND AT A WORLDWIDE DIFFUSION TO AFFIRM ONE'S OWN IDEAS.

A PARTICULAR IMPORTANCE WILL HAVE A CORRECT PRONUNCIATION, INTONATION, GRAMMAR AND FLUENCY OF THE LANGUAGE PRODUCTION.
THE TYPOGRAPHIC RULES OF TRENCH PUNCTUATION AND THE USE OF SPECIAL LETTERS (Â, Ê, Î, Ô, Û, ETC.) ARE PART OF THE PROGRAM.
Teaching Methods
ANNUAL (SEPTEMBER – MAY): MONOGRAPHIC TEACHING. 40 HOURS LECTURES, NOT FACULTATIVE, 4 HOURS A WEEK IN 20 LESSONS, AIMED TO THE READING OF TEXTS.
TUTORIALS ARE ANNUAL IN 4 HOURS A WEEK, FROM SEPTEMBER TO MAY, TWICE A WEEK.

SPECIALIZED SEMINARS AIMED AT ENHANCING STUDENTS’ SOCIO-CULTURAL AND COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCES.
SOME INTERMEDIATE TESTS DURING THE COURSE CAN BE DONE WHOSE EVALUATION CAN PARTIALLY REPLACE THE WRITTEN EXAM OR SOME ISSUES OF THE PROGRAM IN ORAL EXAM (IT IS REQUESTED A 70% PARTICIPATION TO THE MONOGRAPHIC TEACHING AND 60% TO THE TUTORIALS).

PAY ATTENTION: THE ATTENDANCE IS MADE OF AN ACTIVE AND REGULAR PARTICIPATION, IN CLASS AND WITH AN APPROPRIATE HOMEWORK. OTHERWISE IT DOES NOT LEAD TO THE STATUS OF ATTENDING.
Verification of learning
A WRITTEN TEST OF 1 HOUR ON INFORMATICS SUPPORTS CONCERNING GRAMMAR EXERCISES WITH MULTIPLE CHOICE, READING COMPREHENSION, COMPLETING, TRANSFORMATION OF THE TEXT AND LISTENING COMPREHENSION, AND A TEST OF COMPREHENSION AND WRITTEN PRODUCTION PREPARATORY TO THE ORAL PART OF THE EXAM.
AN ORAL EXAM TAKING 15-20 MINUTES. IT CONCERNS AN ADVANCED AND FLUENT CONVERSATION IN FRENCH LANGUAGE AND THE DISCUSSION OF THE TEACHING CONTENTS.
THE PASSED WRITTEN TEST CAN BE KEEP ONE YEAR, AFTER THEN TO REPEAT IF ONE DOES NOT GET THE ORAL YET.
IF ONE DOES NOT GET THE ORAL PART AT THE SAME SESSION OF THE WRITTEN ONE, IT IS NECESSARY TO BOOK THE EXAM AGAIN.
