Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE THE FOUNDATIONS OF CYBER INTELLIGENCE AND THE DIFFERENT INTELLIGENCE TYPES (HUMIN, MASINT, OSINT, ETC.). IT INTRODUCES THE MAIN METHODS AND TOOLS FOR TRANSFORMING DATA AVAILABLE IN OPEN SOURCES INTO ACTIONABLE KNOWLEDGE. METHODS AND TOOLS TO COLLECT AND DISSEMINATE VALUABLE INFORMATION TO ALLOW DECISION-MAKERS TO UNDERSTAND AND PROJECT SITUATIONS AND RISKS. THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY THIS KNOWLEDGE TO ANALYZE AND EXTRACT USEFUL INFORMATION TO COUNTER CYBERSECURITY RISKS (THREAT INTELLIGENCE, VULNERABILITY MANAGEMENT, INCIDENTAL RESPONSE, ETC.) AND ACQUIRE THE NECESSARY SKILLS TO DEVELOP SECURITY POLICIES COMPATIBLE WITH CYBER-CRIME LAWS.

Teaching Methods
THE TEACHING ACTIVITIES (40 HOURS AND 10 ECTS) WILL BE DIVIDED INTO LECTURES AIDED BY MULTIMEDIA MATERIAL (40 HOURS), DISCUSSIONS RELATED TO THE DEFINITION OF PROJECT WORK PROPOSALS AND REALIZATION APPROACHES (5 HOURS) AND LABORATORY LESSONS (10 HOURS). ACTIVITY-BASED LEARNING WILL BE THE MAIN EMPLOYED METHOD.
Verification of learning
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE TEACHING OBJECTIVES IS CERTIFIED OVERCOMING AN EXAM WHOSE EVALUATION IS IN THIRTIETHS.
THE EXAM IS DIVIDED INTO TWO PARTS: A "THEORETICAL" AND A "PRACTICE" TEST. IN ORDER TO PASS THE WHOLE EXAM, EACH PART MUST BE PASSED WITH, AT LEAST, A SUFFICIENT EVALUATION. OTHERWISE, THE EXAM IS CONSIDERED NOT PASSED. THE FINAL VOTE (IF THE SUFFICIENCY IS REACHED FOR EACH PART) IS GIVEN BY THE SUM OF THE VOTES OF THE TWO PARTIES.
FIRST PART: THE “PRACTICAL” ASSESSMENT REGARDS A PROJECT CARRIED OUT BY THE STUDENT, WHICH AIMS TO USE SOME TECHNOLOGIES STUDIED DURING THE COURSE AND/OR THOSE THAT EMERGED BY THE INDIVIDUAL RESEARCHES.
SECOND PART: THE "THEORETICAL" ASSESSMENT CONSISTS OF A STUDENT'S PRESENTATION ABOUT CARRIED OUT PROJECT
REGARDING TECHNOLOGICAL, METHODOLOGICAL, AND APPLICATIVE POINT OF VIEW (WITH APPROPRIATE CONNECTIONS AND PARALLELISMS WITH THE THEMES STUDIED DURING THE COURSE).
