Contents
THE COURSE IS DIVIDED INTO 2 MODULES, CALLED:
- LANDSLIDE RISK,
- LANDSLIDE RISK MITIGATION WORKS

MODULE 1: LANDSLIDE RISK, 60 HOURS
- LANDSLIDE CLASSIFICATION AND ANALYSIS (THEORY: 6 HOURS; TUTORIAL ACTIVITY: 2 HOURS)
- GEOTECHNICAL SLOPE MODEL (THEORY: 6 HOURS; TUTORIAL ACTIVITY: 3 HOURS)
- LANDSLIDE RISK (THEORY: 10 HOURS; TUTORIAL ACTIVITY: 5 HOURS)
- LANDSLIDE ANALYSIS AT SITE SCALE (THEORY: 9 HOURS; TUTORIAL ACTIVITY: 5 HOURS)
- LANDSLIDE ANALYSIS AT REGIONAL SCALE (THEORY: 9 HOURS; TUTORIAL ACTIVITY: 5 HOURS)

MODULE 2: LANDSLIDE RISK MITIGATION WORKS, 60 HOURS
- TYPES OF INTERVENTIONS FOR RISK MITIGATION (THEORY: 8; TUTORIAL ACTIVITY: 4)
- IDENTIFICATION OF THE MOST SUITABLE TYPES OF INTERVENTION (THEORY: 8; TUTORIAL ACTIVITY: 4)
- LOCATION AND DESIGN OF THE RISK MITIGATION INTERVENTION (THEORY: 8; TUTORIAL ACTIVITY: 4)
- VERIFICATION OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE INTERVENTION (THEORY: 8; TUTORIAL ACTIVITY: 4)
- RISK ASSESSMENT IN THE POST-OPERAM CONDITION (THEORY: 8; TUTORIAL ACTIVITY: 4)
Teaching Methods
EQUALLY DIVIDED BETWEEN THE TWO MODULES, THE COURSE HAS 120 LECTURE HOURS, WITH THE FOLLOWING SUBDIVISION:
- LESSONS (80 HOURS)
- GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL TUTORIAL ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING DISCUSSIONS ON AUTO-EVALUATION TESTS AND FLIPPED CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES (40 HOURS)

THE COURSE TOPICS ARE PRESENTED IN THE LESSONS. IN THE TUTORIAL ACTIVITIES A PROBLEM IS SOLVED USING THE TECHNIQUES PRESENTED IN THE THEORETICAL LESSONS. THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROBLEM IS GUIDED BY THE TEACHER AND TENDS TO DEVELOP AND STRENGTHEN THE STUDENT'S ABILITY TO IDENTIFY THE MOST SUITABLE TECHNIQUES FOR THE PROBLEM. THERE ARE ALSO MULTIPLE-CHOICE SELF-ASSESSMENT TESTS.
Verification of learning
AT THE END OF THE COURSE, THE EVALUATION WILL BE BASED ON AN ORAL EXAM (TYPICAL DURATION: 45 MINUTES) COMPRISING:
- PRELIMINARY DISCUSSION ON THE RESULTS OF A TUTORIAL ACTIVITY (TYPICAL DURATION: 15 MINUTES);
- INTERVIEW IN WHICH THE LEVEL OF THE STUDENT'S THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE IS ASSESSED ON COURSE TOPICS (TYPICAL DURATION: 30 MINUTES).

THE ORAL EXAMINATION IS ALSO AIMED AT DEEPENING THE AUTONOMY OF ANALYSIS AND JUDGMENT AND THE STUDENT'S PRESENTATION SKILLS.

THE EVALUATION OF THE EXAM TAKES INTO ACCOUNT THE COMPLETENESS, CLARITY AND ACCURACY OF THE ANSWERS, AS WELL AS THE READINESS DEMONSTRATED BY THE STUDENT IN THE PRESENTATION OF THE TOPICS COVERED. THE FINAL GRADE, EXPRESSED IN THIRTIETHS WITH POSSIBLE PRAISE, IS NOT OBTAINED AS THE AVERAGE OF THE TWO TESTS. THE MINIMUM LEVEL OF ASSESSMENT (18) IS ASSIGNED WHEN THE STUDENT HAS A PIECEMEAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE TOPICS COVERED AND SHOWS A LIMITED ABILITY TO USE THEM IN THE CONTEXT OF THE STUDY. THE MAXIMUM LEVEL (30) IS ASSIGNED WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES A COMPLETE AND IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE METHODOLOGIES AND TOOLS AND HAS A CONSIDERABLE ABILITY TO USE THEM IN THE CONTEXT OF STUDY. PRAISE IS GIVEN WHEN THE CANDIDATE DEMONSTRATES SIGNIFICANT MASTERY OF METHODOLOGIES AND TOOLS AND SHOWS CONSIDERABLE OWNERSHIP OF LANGUAGE AND AUTONOMOUS PROCESSING SKILLS EVEN IN CONTEXTS DIFFERENT FROM THOSE PROPOSED BY THE TEACHER.
