GENERAL LEARNING OUTCOMES THE COURSE AIMS TO ENABLE STUDENTS TO READ TEXTS IN ORDER TO EXTRACT RELEVANT INFORMATION, TO UNDERSTAND AND WRITE TEXTS DEEPENING THE STUDY OF MORPHOLOGY, SYNTAX, SEMANTICS AND STYLISTICS AND REINFORCE THE WRITTEN AND SPOKEN COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS INTRODUCING TECHNIQUES FOR THE ANALYSIS OF TEXTS. AT THE END OF THE LESSONS STUDENTS WILL CONFIDENTLY FACE SOCIAL AND ACADEMIC COMMUNICATIVE CONTEXTS AT AN ADVANCED LEVEL IN BOTH SPOKEN AND WRITTEN LANGUAGE. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING TEACHING ACTIVITIES WILL AIM TO LANGUAGE PRACTICE IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE FLUENCY, ACCURATE PRONOUNCIATION AND GRAMMAR, AND SYNTACTIC COMPETENCE. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE COURSE WILL INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO THE TRANSLATION OF TEXTS (SCRIPTS, TREATMENTS ETC.) FROM ENGLISH INTO ITALIAN. MAKING JUDGEMENTS STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO FORMULATE AND DISCUSS HYPOTHESES CONCERNING TRANSLATION ISSUES. COMMUNICATION SKILLS STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO EFFECTIVELY DISCUSS IN ENGLISH - WITH THE RIGHT LEXICAL COMPETENCE – ALL THE TOPICS PERTAINING TO THE COURSE CONTENTS. LEARNING SKILLS STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX TEXTS AND AUTONOMOUSLY IDENTIFY AND USE THE RIGHT TOOLS IN ORDET TO IMPROVE THEIR LANGUAGE SKILLS. |

STUDENTS MUST POSSESS A LEVEL OF LINGUISTIC COMPETENCE CORRESPONDING TO B1 OF THE COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES. |

STUDENTS WILL ANALYSE TEXTS BELONGING TO DIFFERENT GENRES (LITERATURE, MUSIC, CINEMA/TV) FROM A LINGUISTIC AND STYLISTIC POINT OF VIEW ALSO CONCENTRATING ON TRANSLATION ISSUES. LESSONS WILL DEAL WITH MULTIMODALITY, INTERSEMIOTIC AND AUDIOVISUAL TRANSLATION, AND, AT THE END OF THE COURSE, ATTENDING STUDENTS WILL REALIZE A FINAL WORK CONSISTING IN WRITING A REPORT AND SHOOTING A VIDEOCLIP. SOME LECTURES WILL BE HELD BY EXPERTS IN THE FIELD OF VIDEOMAKING WHO WILL HELP STUDENTS IN THE PHASES OF PREPRODUCTION, PRODUCTION AND POSTPRODUCTION. |

Verification of learning | |

ATTENDING STUDENTS WILL WRITE AN ACADEMIC PAPER AND SHOOT A MUSIC VIDEO AND THEY WILL DISCUSS THEM DURING THE ORAL EXAM. NON ATTENDING STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO CONTACT THE PROFESSOR IN ORDER TO GET INFORMATION ON THE PROGRAMME AND THE EXAM. |
