Objectives
THE COURSE IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE, WITH A LONG-TERM LOOK, THE FUNDAMENTAL ELEMENTS TO THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATIONS THAT HAVE INTERESTED THE MEDITERRANEAN BASIN AND ALL THE AREAS WHICH IN THE MEDITERRANEAN HAVE FOUND AND CONTACT ELEMENTS. IN PARTICULAR, IT IS INTENDED TO DEEPEN THE DYNAMICS THAT HAVE PERMITTED THE DEVELOPMENT AND STRENGTHENING OF THE ECONOMIC GROWTH OF CERTAIN AREAS AND THE ELEMENTS OF WEAKNESS OF THAT GROWTH. IN PARTICULAR, THE ASPECTS RELATING TO ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL INEQUALITIES RESULTING FROM PHENOMENA OF DIFFERENTIATED GROWTH WILL BE ANALYZED. THEY WILL BE ANALYZED: INSTITUTIONS, CULTURE AND DYNAMICS BOTH AT NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEVEL. IN THIS WAY IT IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH THE ANALYSIS OF THE ECONOMIC, POLITICAL AND SOCIAL TRANSFORMATIONS THAT HAVE INTERESTED THE REGION, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE ACTORS WHO HAPPENED ON THE SCENARIO AND THOSE WHO CURRENTLY MOVE AROUND AN AREA THAT STILL HAS A HIGH STRATEGIC AND ECONOMIC VALUE. THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY HIS KNOWLEDGE TO UNDERSTAND THE COMPLEXITY OF ECONOMIC, POLITICAL AND SOCIAL PHENOMENA ALSO THANKS TO THE DEEPENING OF CASE STUDIES RELATED TO THE DIFFERENT ACTORS AND TO THE MAIN PHENOMENA OF MEDITERRANEAN HISTORY.
