Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO INTRODUCE THE STUDENT TO THE HISPANIC-AMERICAN UNIVERSE, STUDYING THE MAIN HISTORICAL, CULTURAL AND LITERARY TRANSFORMATIONS FROM THE CONQUEST TO TODAY, FOCUSING ATTENTION ON THE PROBLEM OF COLONIAL ORIGINS AND ITS DIFFICULT LEGACIES.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
STUDENTS WILL:
-LEARN ABOUT THE MAIN HISTORICAL, SOCIAL, CULTURAL AND LITERARY DYNAMICS THAT HAVE AFFECTED THE LARGE ETHNO-GEOGRAPHICAL AREAS INTO WHICH IT IS POSSIBLE TO DIVIDE THE HISPANIC-AMERICAN SPACE;
-ACQUIRE THE FUNDAMENTAL NOTIONS AND KNOWLEDGE ABOUT AUTHORS AND PARADIGMATIC TEXTS OF HISPANO-AMERICAN LITERATURE.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- INTERPRET TEXTS, CRITICALLY ANALYZE AND CONNECT THEM TO OTHER TEXTS IN A WIDER HISTORICAL-LITERARY CONTEXT.

MAKING JUDGEMENTS
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
-RELATE LATIN AMERICAN CULTURAL AND AESTHETIC PHENOMENA WITH THOSE OF THE EUROPEAN CONTEXT, RECOGNIZING ASPECTS OF AFFINITY / DIVERGENCE, SYNCHRONY / ASYNCHRONY, ETC.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
-EXPRESS THEMSELVES CLEARLY AND WITH APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE IN A SPECIFIC CHRONOLOGICAL AND SPATIAL CONTEXT;
-SUMMARIZE, COMMENT AND ANALYZE THE LITERARY WORKS INDICATED IN THE PROGRAM.

LEARNING SKILLS
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
-INTERPRET AND ANALYZE TEXTS OF DIFFERENT NATURE AND TYPOLOGY THROUGH THE FUNDAMENTAL CRITICAL METHODOLOGIES;
-MOVE INDEPENDENTLY IN THE STUDY OF LIMITED SECTIONS OF CRITICAL LITERATURE;
-UNDERTAKE TARGETED RESEARCH ACTIVITIES THROUGH THE USE OF BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS, CATALOGS AND VIRTUAL RESOURCES ON THE WEB, ETC.

Verification of learning
ORAL EXAM (IN ITALIAN OR IN SPANISH). THE STUDENT MUST BE ABLE TO READ THE TEXTS IN SPANISH. THE STUDENT WILL HAVE TO SHOW HIS CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF THE MOST IMPORTANT HISTORICAL, CULTURAL AND LITERARY DYNAMICS THAT LED TO THE CURRENT HISPANIC WORLD.
