THE COURSE “MORPHOLOGICAL AND FUNCTIONAL BASES” TAKES PLACE IN THE FIRST SEMESTER OF THE FIRST YEAR. IT IS DIVIDED INTO 3 TEACHING MODULES FOR A TOTAL OF 6 ECTS AND 72 HOURS OF LESSONS. THE GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE IS TO PROVIDE THE TOOLS FOR THE KNOWLEDGE OF BIOLOGY, ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY TO ALLOW THE CORRECT INTERPRETATION OF ALL FUNCTIONS OF THE HUMAN BODY FROM THE MICROSCOPIC TO THE MACROSCOPIC LEVEL. AT THE END OF THE COURSE STUDENTS HAVE: A) TO KNOW THE MAIN STRUCTURES AND FUNCTIONS OF EUCARIOTIC CELLS, AND THE MECHANISMS RELATED TO THE MAINTENANCE, EXPRESSION AND TRANSMISSION OF GENETIC INFORMATION; B) TO KNOW STRUCTURAL ORGANIZATION AND FUNCTIONS OF ORGANS AND APPARATUSES THAT MAKE UP THE HUMAN BODY; C) TO DISTINGUISH AND DESCRIBE ALL THE STRUCTURES INVOLVED IN HUMAN MOVEMENTS. |

THE SCORE OF THE ORAL EXAM DEPENDS ON THE DEGREE OF DEPTH OF THE TOPICS AND ON THE STUDENT'S ABILITY TO PRESENT THE CONTENTS BY CRITICALLY DISCUSSING THE TOPICS. TO ACHIEVE THE MINIMUM SCORE IN THE ORAL EXAM, STUDENTS HAVE TO KNOWLEDGE, THE STRUCTURE AND THE MAIN FUNCTIONS OF ANIMAL CELLS AS WELL AS THE MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE HUMAN BODY ORGANS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTENANCE OF HOMEOSTASIS. IN ADDITION, STUDENTS SHOULD DEMONSTRATE TO USE THE ANATOMICAL TERMINOLOGY CORRECTLY AND KNOW THE BONE, MUSCULAR AND TENDON STRUCTURES OF THE LOCOMOTOR APPARATUS. THE VOTE, EXPRESSED IN THIRTY-THIRTIES, WILL DEPEND ON THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE. TO OBTAIN THE PRAISE, STUDENTS HAVE TO DEMONSTRATE HIGHER QUALITY OF EXHIBITION AND THE ABILITY TO LINK THE TOPICS EACHOTHER. |
