Objectives | |

THE TEACHING AIMS TO DEFINE THE PHENOMENA THAT LEAD TO TERRITORIAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, INTENDED AS A COMPLEX PROBLEM WITHIN WHICH HISTORICAL, DEMOGRAPHIC, ECONOMIC, CULTURAL AND GEOGRAPHICAL FACTORS ARE REVERED. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE TEACHING AIMS TO PROVIDE CONCEPTS AND INTERPRETATIVE TOOLS SUITABLE FOR UNDERSTANDING LONG-TERM ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL PROCESSES, IN ORDER TO STIMULATE THE DEVELOPMENT OF A CRITICAL CONCEPT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. IN PARTICULAR, THE DEVELOPMENT ACTIVATION AND PROPULSION FACTORS WILL BE ANALYZED, SUCH AS THE CAPITAL ACCUMULATION AND ITS USE THROUGH INVESTMENT PROCESSES, THE SELECTION OF TECHNOLOGIES, THE ACTIVITY OF PRIVATE ENTREPRENEURS AND THE STATE. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE COURSE AIMS TO INTEGRATE HISTORICAL-ECONOMIC KNOWLEDGE WITH EVIDENCE SUGGESTED FROM ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY AND DEVELOPMENT SOCIOLOGY. THE LINKS BETWEEN THE VARIOUS INTERPRETATIONS OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROPOSED BY THE SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE AND SOME SELECTED EMPIRICAL COUNTRY REPORTS AND AVAILABLE DATA BASE WILL BE IDENTIFIED. |

THE TEACHING IS ARTICULATED IN 40 HOURS OF FRONTAL LESSONS; SOME HOURS OF LESSONS WILL BE DEDICATED TO THE DISCUSSION OF CASE STUDIES AND REPORTS BY THE STUDENTS. |
Verification of learning | |

THE EXAM CONSISTS OF AN INTERMEDIATE WRITTEN TEST, IN THE FORM OF AN OPEN QUESTION TEST, AND A FINAL ORAL TEST. THE ORAL TEST AIMS TO TEST THE DEGREE OF KNOWLEDGE AND LEARNING OF THE COURSE TOPICS, THE AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT AND THE CRITICAL ABILITY. THE FINAL RESULT IS GIVEN BY THE COMBINED EVALUATION OF THE TWO TESTS TAKEN BY THE CANDIDATE. |
