Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL ELEMENTS INHERENT TO THE DISCIPLINE OF DIDACTICS, ENCOURAGING AN AUTONOMOUS CRITICAL REFLECTION ABOUT THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESSES INVOLVED IN THE INTERACTIVE DYNAMICS BETWEEN TEACHING AND LEARNING IN FORMAL AND INFORMAL CONTEXTS.
-KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: AT THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENTS SHOULD DEMONSTRATE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE BASIC TEACHING, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO COGNITIVE, EMOTIONAL AND RELATIONAL PROCESSES INVOLVED IN THE INTERACTIVE DYNAMICS BETWEEN TEACHING AND LEARNING.
-APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: AT THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENTS SHOULD APPLY THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER WITHIN THE DIDACTIC AND EDUCATIONAL ARENA, AND HAVE COMPETENCES TYPICALLY DEMONSTRATED THROUGH DEVISING AND SUSTAINING ARGUMENTS AND SOLVING PROBLEMS WITHIN THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS.
-COMMUNICATION SKILLS: AT THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENTS SHOULD COMMUNICATE INFORMATION, IDEAS, PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS USING THE SPECIFIC LEXIS OF THE DISCIPLINE AND SHOW ABILITY IN SUSTAINING ONE'S OWN CONCLUSIONS.

Prerequisites
THE COURSE IMPROVES KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES THAT THE STUDENTS HAVE ALREADY ACQUIRED IN THE FORMER UNIVERSITY STUDIES IN THE SAME FIELD. THUS, IT IS EXPECTED THAT STUDENTS ALREADY HAVE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN STUDY APPROACHES TO DIDACTICS AND THEIR APPLICATION TO EDUCATIONAL PROCESSES.

THE COURSE DEALS WITH THE IMPORTANCE OF THE DIDACTIC ACTION WITHIN THE TRANSITION FROM A PSYCHOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE OF LEARNING TO A PEDAGOGICAL PERSPECTIVE OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS FOCUSED ON THE TEACHING-LEARNING DIALECTIC. IN PARTICULAR, AFTER A PRELIMINARY ANALYSIS OF THE CONCEPT OF "ACTION", THE COURSE EXPLORES THE CONCEPT OF "AGENCY" AS KEY DIMENSION OF TEACHERS' PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WITHIN AN INCLUSIVE APPROACH.
Teaching Methods
THE 36-HOUR COURSE WILL CONSIST OF LECTURES AND GROUPWORK USING PRESENTATIONS AND OTHER MULTI-MEDIA TEACHING MATERIAL
Verification of learning
THE FINAL ORAL EXAM IS BASED ON QUESTIONS CONCERNING THE TOPICS COVERED DURING THE COURSE AND AIMS AT ASCERTAINING NOT ONLY THE STUDENT’S KNOWLEDGE OF THE CONTENTS, BUT ALSO HER/HIS ABILITY TO EXPRESS THEM CLEARLY AND WITH A PROPER LANGUAGE.
