Objectives
The tomographic 3 course is divided into three teaching modules: CT and MRI (abdomen-pelvis-musculoskeletal), Gastroenterology, technical-methodological aspects of the integrated course. The course aims to promote the acquisition of theoretical knowledge concerning the principles and methodological aspects of imaging diagnostic procedures in the abdomen-pelvis and musculoskeletal system, and the main gastroenterological pathologies.
Knowledge and understanding
- knowledge and understanding of the main gastroenetrological pathologies
- knowledge and understanding of the theoretical and methodological aspects of the tomographic methods (CT and MRI) of the abdomen-pelvis district and of the musculoskeletal system
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
- ability to use the main tomographic equipment in the study of the abdomen-pelvis district and of the musculoskeletal system
- ability to apply procedural methods in the study of the abdomen-pelvis district and the musculoskeletal system
Transversal skills
- ability to update through bibliographic tools
Prerequisites
In order to understand and be able to apply most of the topics covered in teaching, it is necessary to have passed the preparatory examination of Tomografia I
Contents
The course is divided into 3 modules: Gastroenterology with 1 CFU, CT and MRI (abdomen-pelvis-musculoskeletal) with 3 CFU, Tomographic Methodologies with 2 CFU. The teaching includes hours of lessons in which the topics will be addressed:
Techniques of tomographic study of the abdomen and pelvis.
Normal and pathological pictures.
Main indications.
Techniques of tomographic study of the musculoskeletal system.
Normal and pathological pictures.
Main indications
Physiopathology of the gastrointestinal system
Pathologies of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon
Biliary pathologies
Pancreatitis and adenocarcinoma of the pancreas
Hepatitis, cirrhosis, hepatocarcinoma
Teaching Methods
The course includes lessons for 72 hours. Attendance is mandatory. In order to take the final exam, the student must have attended at least 75% of the teaching hours. The mode of verification of presence is made known by the teacher at the beginning of the lessons.
