Objectives
Advanced knowledge of the etiopathogenetic mechanisms and the pathophysiological bases that determine digestive diseases and their evolution; Ability to apply this knowledge in the interpretation of the clinical pictures of patients with hepato-gastroenterological and pancreatic diseases, placing them in a context of general patient classification; Acquisition of the ability to evaluate internal and specialist connections and influences.
Knowledge of therapeutic resources to plan their optimal use with indications and contraindications, as well as interaction effects and possible iatrogenic accidents; acquisition of the fundamental notions relating to clinical research methodologies and pharmacological experiments. Prerequisites
having passed the first year examination
Contents

Clinical classification of the patient based on anamnesis and physical examination; development of critical and analytical diagnostic-therapeutic plans with respect to local and national guidelines and PDTAs. The knowledge of the main diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures according to good clinical practice and good quality methodology, the knowledge of performing manometric protocols and laboratory-instrumental investigations; Management of the patient with liver disease, pre and post liver transplantation with complications including emergency-urgency; Nutritional management of the patient in the different gastroenterological pathologies. Appropriate therapies with indications and contraindications, interactions and possible iatrogenic accidents; basic notions related to clinical research methodologies and pharmacological experiments. Fundamentals of prevention, public health and social medicine.
