HE STUDENT MUST ALREADY HAVE ACQUIRED, THROUGH THE PREVIOUS COURSES, THE NOTIONS OF BIOLOGY REGARDING THE GENERAL MECHANISMS OF THE NEOPLASTIC TRANSFORMATION AND THE PHYSIOPATHOLOGY OF THE TUMOR DISEASES, SUCH AS HEMATOLOGICAL DISEASES AND THE MOST IMPORTANT SOLID TUMORS. IN ADDITION, THE STUDENT SHOULD KNOW THE PHYSIOPATHOLOGY OF COAGULATION DISEASES, AS WELL AS THE MECHANISM OF ACTION OF THE MOST IMPORTANT CLASSES OF ANTINEOPLASTIC DRUGS. |

THIS COURSE IS COMPOSED BY TWO MODULES: ONCOHEMATOLOGY AND ONCOLOGY. HEMATOLOGY PROGRAM: THE COURSE WILL BE ON EPIDEMIOLOGY, NATURAL HISTORY, DIAGNOSIS, STAGING, PROGNOSIS AND PRINCIPLES OF THERAPY OF NEOPLASTIC HEMOPATHIES, AND OF NON-NEOPLASTIC EMOPATHIES AND OF THE HEMOSTASIS DISEASES PROGRAM OF THE HEMATO-ONCOLOGY COURSE AND BLOOD DISEASES: 1. ANEMIA, CLASSIFICATION, DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF THE PRINCIPAL ENTITIES (FERROCARENTIAL ANEMIA, MEGALOBLASTIC ANEMIA, PAROXYSMAL NOCTURNAL HEMOGLOBINURIA, IMMUNOLOGICAL HEMOLITIC ANEMIAS, DREPANOCYTOSIS, SPHEROCITOSIS TALASSEMIC SYNDROMES) 2. BONE MARROW FAILURE SYNDROMES (APLASTIC ANEMIA, HYPOPLASTIC MYELODYSPLASIA, T-LGL). 3. ACUTE LYMPHOID LEUKEMIA 4. ACUTE MYELOID LEUKEMIA 5. VENOUS AND ARTERIOUS TROMBOEMBOLISM: PROPHYLAXIS AND THERAPY 12. HEMATOPOIETIC STEM CELL TRANSPLANT AND CAR-T THERAPY ONCOLOGY PROGRAM: GENERAL PART. PRINCIPLES OF BIOLOGY OF TUMORS: MECHANISMS OF NEOPLASTIC TRANSFORMATION, INVASION AND METASTASIS. PRINCIPLES OF EPIDEMIOLOGY OF TUMORS. TUMOR PREVENTION: PRIMARY PREVENTION, SECONDARY PREVENTION (SCREENINGS) AND CHEMOPREVENTION. CLINICAL APPROACH TO THE PATIENT WITH NEOPLASIA: DIAGNOSIS, STAGING, PROGNOSTIC FACTORS AND PREDICTIVE FACTORS, THERAPEUTIC PLANNING. PRINCIPLES OF ANTI-TUMORAL THERAPY: ROLE OF RADIOTHERAPY, SURGERY AND MEDICAL THERAPIES. RATIONAL BASES OF THE MEDICAL THERAPY OF NEOPLASMS: ADAPTIVE THERAPY, NEOADJUVANT THERAPY, THERAPY OF ADVANCED DISEASE. CHEMOTHERAPY; HORMONE THERAPY; THERAPY WITH NEW MOLECULAR TARGET DRUGS. SIDE EFFECTS OF DRUGS. PRINCIPLES OF SUPPORT THERAPY. PRINCIPLES OF CLINICAL METHODOLOGY IN ONCOLOGY. SPECIAL PART DIAGNOSIS, STAGING AND TREATMENT OF THE FOLLOWING NEOPLASMS: BREAST TUMORS; LUNG TUMORS; GASTRO-INTESTINAL TUMORS (ESOPHAGUS, STOMACH, PANCREAS, COLON-RECT); PROSTATE CANCER; OVARIAN TUMORS; GERMINAL TUMORS, KIDNEY TUMORS; MELANOMA. THE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING ACTIVITIES WILL FOCUS ON THE MOST COMMON NEOPLASTIC HEMATOLOGICAL DISEASES AND SOLID TUMORS DIRECTLY TO THE PATIENT'S BED. |

THIS COURSE IS DIVIDED INTO FRONTAL LESSONS (24 HOURS), AND 25 HOURS OF PROFESSIONALIZING TRAINING ACTIVITY. LESSONS WILL ALLOW THE STUDENT TO ACQUIRE THE KNOWLEDGE OF PATHOGENESIS, DIAGNOSIS, AND TREATMENT OF THE MAIN HEMOPATHIES, WHILE TRAINING WILL ALLOW THE STUDENT TO DEVELOP THE ABILITY TO APPLY THIS KNOWLEDGE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE THORUGH DISCUSSION OF CLINICAL CASES. |
