Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO HELP STUDENTS CONSOLIDATE THEIR COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS (I. E., TO FULLY UNDERSTAND EVERYDAY SPEECH AND EXPRESS THEMSELVES FLUENTLY AND CORRECTLY IN SPANISH) AND RAISE STUDENTS’ AWARENESS OF THE FEATURES OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF MEDIA AND ACADEMIC DISCOURSE.
BY THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO DEAL CONFIDENTLY WITH SOCIAL AND ACADEMIC COMMUNICATIVE SITUATIONS AS WELL AS SPECIFIC SITUATIONS (BUT NOT TECHNICAL); S/HE WILL ALSO READ AND UNDERSTAND NON-SPECIALISED TEXTS WITH EASE (MOSTLY RELATED TO SPANISH-SPEAKING CULTURES), UNDERSTAND AUTHENTIC SPOKEN TEXTS (RADIO, TELEVISION, CINEMA), AND EXPRESS THEMSELVES ON NON-SPECIALISED TOPICS BOTH ORALLY AND IN WRITING. S/HE WILL HAVE REACHED A LEVEL OF COMPETENCE CORRESPONDING TO B2 OF THE COMMON EUROPEAN LANGUAGE FRAMEWORK.
Prerequisites
STUDENTS (NOT ERASMUS STUDENTS) MUST HAVE PASSED THE FOLLOWING EXAMS: SPANISH LITERATURE I AND SPANISH LANGUAGE I.
