THE COURSE AIMS AT DEEPENING THE STUDY OF HUMAN MOVEMENT, DEFINING THE MODALITIES AND MECHANISMS UNDERLYING MOTOR LEARNING AND CONTROL PROCESSES, THROUGH AN EXCURSUS OF THE MAIN THEORIES, FROM THE COGNITIVIST APPROACH TO THE DYNAMIC ECOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE. IN PARTICULAR, THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND HOW THE MECHANISMS UNDERLYING MOTOR LEARNING PROCESSES REPRESENT THE OUTCOME OF A CONTINUOUS PROCESS OF INTERACTION BETWEEN THE INDIVIDUAL AND THE ENVIRONMENT, AND HOW THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SENSORY AFFERENCES AND COGNITIVE PROCESSING DETERMINE THE QUALITY OF MOTOR RESPONSES. FURTHERMORE, THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE MOST EFFECTIVE METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES, BASED ON THE MOST RECENT SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE, DECLINING THEM ACCORDING TO THE AGE, LEVEL OF PSYCHO-MOTOR DEVELOPMENT AND INDIVIDUAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE USERS. FINALLY, HE/SHE WILL BE ABLE TO EXPOUND AND DISCUSS IN A CRITICAL MANNER, THE SCIENTIFIC ASPECTS RELATED TO THE DISCIPLINE AND ITS PRACTICAL APPLICATION, USING APPROPRIATE SCIENTIFIC LANGUAGE. |

THE COURSE WILL CONSIST OF LECTURES AIMED AT PRESENTING AND ILLUSTRATING THE THEORETICAL CONTENT OF THE COURSE, ON WHICH DISCUSSIONS WITH THE STUDENTS CAN BE INITIATED, GROUP WORK TO ENABLE A GREATER UNDERSTANDING OF THE KNOWLEDGE AND THE ABILITY TO APPLY IT IN A CRITICAL MANNER AND EXERCISING AUTONOMY OF JUDGEMENT AND COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS RELATING TO THE CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THE TOPICS COVERED IN THE COURSE. |

ATTAINMENT OF THE TEACHING OBJECTIVES IS CERTIFIED BY PASSING A TEST CONSISTING OF 35 QUESTIONS (TO BE TAKEN IN 35 MINUTES) WITH A GRADE IN THIRTIETHS. THE EXAMINATION CONSISTS OF A WRITTEN TEST WITH MULTIPLE-CHOICE ANSWERS, WHICH WILL AIM TO ASSESS THE ACQUISITION OF THE THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED BY THE STUDENT. INTERMEDIATE TESTS MAY BE HELD TO CHECK THE PROGRESS OF TEACHING AND TO ENABLE STUDENTS TO TAKE THE FINAL EXAM WITH GREATER COMPETENCE AND AWARENESS. |
