THE COURSE PROVIDES STUDENTS WITH KNOWLEDGE OF THEORIES, METHOD AND QUANTITATIVE LANGUAGE OF THE BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION. THE MAIN TYPES OF ECONOMIC ORGANIZATIONS AS WELL AS THE MAIN OPERATIONS AND PROCESSES ARE EXAMINED IN TUNE WITH THE MAIN ECONOMIC, FINANCIAL AND STRATEGIC ISSUES, IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSESSMENT OF ORGANISATIONS’ ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY, EFFECTIVENESS AND PROFITABILITY. THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO PREPARE SYNTHETIC STATEMENTS ILLUSTRATING THE CORPORATE ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL POSITION AS WELL AS TO EVALUATE BOTH MONETARY AND NON-MONETARY FIRMS’ ABILITY TO PRODUCE INTERNAL NET CASH INFLOWS (SELF-FINANCING). THE FINAL PURPOSE OF THE COURSE IS TO MAKE THE STUDENT ABLE TO EVALUATE THE MAIN CONDITIONS WHICH UNDERPIN COMPANY’S COST-EFFECTIVENESS, FORMULATING ADEQUATE VALUE FOR MONEY ANALYSIS BASED ON THE DIFFERENT CORPORATE OPERATIONS WHICH FIRMS MAY IMPLEMENT. THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO ILLUSTRATE THE MAIN CORPORATE OPERATIONS AS WELL AS THE MAIN CONDITIONS TO ACHIEVE THE ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL VIABILITY (EQUILIBRIUM) BY CONSIDERING THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF EXISTING COMPANIES. •KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING AT THE END OF THE COURSE, THE STUDENT WILL ACHIEVE THE FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: -PERIMETER AND CONTENT OF THE BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION DISCIPLINARY FIELD. -FIRM’S TYPICAL ENTITIES: LEGAL AND ECONOMIC ENTITY. -THE BUSINESS OPERATIONS SYSTEM. -EXERCISE INCOME AND CAPITAL. -ECONOMIC EQUILIBRIUM. -FINANCIAL EQUILIBRIUM (VIABILITY). -THE TOOLS FOR THE EXTERNAL CORPORATE COMMUNICATION (FINANCIAL REPORTING). -THE CAPITAL CONFIGURATIONS. -ORGANISATIONAL FUNCTIONS AND STRUCTURES. -BUSINESS ACTIVITIES TREND CONTROL. -BUSINESS STRATEGY. -CORPORATE GOVERNANCE •APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING -ABILITY TO DETECT THE RELEVANT DIMENSIONS OF THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF COMPANIES. -ABILITY TO ANALYSE THE MAIN CORPORATE ECONOMIC DYNAMICS. -ABILITY TO EVALUATE THE DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS OF CORPORATE PERFORMANCE: ECONOMIC, FINANCIAL AND OVERALL PERFORMANCE. -ABILITY TO DEFINE THE DIFFERENT ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURES. -ABILITY TO CORRECTLY MANAGE THE CORPORATE COMMUNICATION TOWARDS EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS. •MAKING JUDGEMENTS THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO ASSESS: -THE CONDITIONS WHICH UNDERPIN COMPANY’S COST-EFFECTIVENESS (VALUE FOR MONEY); -THE FINANCIAL VIABILITY IN THE SHORT PERIOD. •COMMUNICATION SKILLS THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO DISCUSS ABOUT THE DIFFERENT TOPICS REGARDING THE BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AND ILLUSTRATE THE SUITABLE TOOLS TO VERIFY THE CONDITIONS FOR THE EQUILIBRIUM OF COMPANY BY EMPLOYING THE APPROPRIATE TERMINOLOGY. |

THE COURSE CONSISTS OF 60 HOURS INCLUDING BOTH LECTURES AND PRACTICAL EXERCISES (10 CFU). IN PARTICULAR, 40 HOURS ARE DEVOTED TO THEORETICAL LECTURES AND 20 HOURS TO PRACTICAL EXERCISES. THE THEORETICAL LECTURES WILL BE ENRICHED BY PRESENTATIONS PROVIDED BY MANAGERS AND PROFESSIONALS. |

THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE COURSE’S OBJECTIVE IS CERTIFIED BY PASSING BOTH A WRITTEN AND AN ORAL TEST WHICH WILL TAKE PLACE ACCORDING TO THE CALENDAR PLANNED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR. FINAL GRADE IS EXPRESSED IN 30°. THE MINIMUM GRADE IS 18/30. IN GENERAL, THE WRITTEN TEST DURATION IS 75 MINUTES AND AIMS TO VERIFY THE STUDENT’S ABILITY IN APPLYING THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE. THE ORAL TEST CONSISTS OF A DISCUSSION CONCERNING THE DIFFERENT THEORETICAL TOPICS AND AIMS BOTH TO ASCERTAIN THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING AND VERIFY THE ABILITY TO DISCUSS BY EMPLOYING THE APPROPRIATE TECHNICAL TERMINOLOGY AS WELL AS THE CAPACITY TO ORGANISE THE DISCOURSE WITH A SATISFACTORY DEGREE OF AUTONOMY. |
