THE COURSE IS DEDICATED TO THE ANALYSIS AND VERIFICATION OF THE HISTORY AND THEORIES OF COMICS FROM ITS BEGINNINGS ON PRINTED PAPER TO THE CURRENT DIGITAL AGE. PATHS CAPABLE OF HISTORICALLY INVESTIGATING THE SOCIO-CULTURAL CHANGES OF THE MEDIUM (FROM THE END OF THE NINETEENTH CENTURY TO TODAY) WILL BE OUTLINED. THE COURSE AIMS TO INVESTIGATE THE SUCCESSION OF THEORIES ABOUT THE POSITION THAT COMICS OCCUPY, FROM ERA TO ERA, IN THE GENERAL SCENARIO OF SOCIAL COMMUNICATION. THE UNPRECEDENTED PERSPECTIVES THAT THE DIGITAL ERA PROPOSES FOR THE SAME RESEARCH, BOTH HISTORICAL AND SOCIOLOGICAL, ON THE HISTORICAL AND CURRENT FORMS OF THE MEDIUM WILL BE ANALYZED, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE INTEGRATIONS AND INTERACTIONS (FROM THE "INTERMEDIALITY" TO THE "TRANSMEDIALITY") PRODUCED BETWEEN COMICS AND OTHER MEDIA.. |

THE COURSE IS CONDUCTED THROUGH THE FOLLOWING METHODOLOGIES: LECTURES AND SEMINAR ACTIVITIES FOCUSING ON CASE STUDIES. 24 HOURS WILL BE DEDICATED TO LECTURES AND 6 HOURS TO SEMINAR ACTIVITIES WITH CASE HISTORY DISCUSSION. ATTENDANCE OF LECTURES IS NOT MANDATORY, BUT STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. |
