Objectives
THE STUDENT SHOULD ACQUIRE SATISFACTORY THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE AND PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE IN NURSING, CLINICAL, AND INSTRUMENTAL MANAGEMENT WITH REFERENCE TO PALLIATIVE CARE, THE MOST COMMON CARDIOVASCULAR, INTERNIST, ONCOLOGIC, RHEUMATOLOGIC, AND RHEUMATOLOGIC DISEASES, AS WELL AS DEVELOPMENTAL POLYMORBID CONDITIONS RELATED TO AGING AND POSSIBLE PALLIATIVE CARE RELATED TO IT.
THE STUDENT WILL THEREFORE HAVE TO REFINE THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE AND PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE IN THE RECOGNITION AND TREATMENT OF ADVANCED STAGES OF DISEASE AND END OF LIFE, ESPECIALLY WITH REFERENCE TO THE IDENTIFICATION OF THE TIMELY AND PROGRESSIVE TRANSITION FROM ACTIVE TO PALLIATIVE CARE, WITH THE ABILITY TO INTERACT EFFECTIVELY WITH SPECIALISTS IN ALL STAGES OF THE ABOVE-MENTIONED PATHOLOGIES, INCLUDING CLINICAL CONDITIONS OF INCURABILITY HAVING GAINED PARTICULAR SKILLS IN THE ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT OF CONDITIONS CHARACTERISTIC OF THE ADVANCED STAGES OF THESE.

- KNOW HOW TO INTEGRATE ONE'S KNOWLEDGE WITH THAT OF SPECIALISTS IN THE DIFFERENT CHRONIC DEVELOPMENTAL DISEASES IN ORDER TO PLAN PERSONALIZED DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC PATHS ON THE EVOLUTION OF THE UNDERLYING PATHOLOGY;
- KNOW HOW TO APPLY THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TO TERMINALLY ILL SITUATIONS, INCLUDING IN ACUTE AND EMERGENCY CARE;
- KNOW THE CLINICAL CRITERIA THAT ALLOW THE INDICATION TO BE PLACED ON A PALLIATIVE CARE PATHWAY WITH REFERENCE ALSO TO THOSE FOR ELIGIBILITY FOR DIFFERENT CARE SETTINGS;
- KNOW THE TOOLS FOR ASSESSING AND MEASURING SPECIFIC NEEDS FOR PALLIATIVE CARE, PARTICULARLY RELEVANT SYMPTOMS AND CLINICAL PICTURES;
- KNOW HOW TO USE PROGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT TOOLS AND TOOLS TO IDENTIFY PATIENTS IN RELATION TO THE TRAJECTORIES OF DIFFERENT DISEASES;
