Objectives
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE CONCEPTUAL ELEMENTS AND METHODOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES TO PROMOTE INCLUSIVE PROCESSES.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING SKILLS
THE STUDENT, BY THE END OF THE COURSE, WILL HAVE ACQUIRED:
- KNOWLEDGE OF THE EPISTEMOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF SPECIAL PEDAGOGY AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION;
- KNOWLEDGE OF THE AREAS OF APPLICATION OF CONTEMPORARY PEDAGOGICAL RESEARCH ON INCLUSION AND EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES;
- THE ABILITY TO IDENTIFY THE MAIN FEATURES OF THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES OF SPECIAL PEDAGOGY WITH REFERENCE TO SCHOOL AND SOCIAL INCLUSIVE PROCESSES.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- RESPOND, WITH EFFECTIVE AND INCLUSIVE INTERVENTIONS, TO DIFFERENT TYPES OF SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS;
- RECOGNIZE AND USE THE TOOLS OF PEDAGOGICAL DESIGN WITHIN THE HETEROGENEOUS CONTEXT OF THE CLASSROOM GROUP;
- CRITICALLY AND REFLECTIVELY IDENTIFY INTERVENTION HYPOTHESES APPROPRIATE TO DIFFERENT CONTEXTS.

AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- CRITICALLY INTERPRET THE VALIDITY OF THE SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE;
- INTEGRATE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE TO MANAGE THE HETEROGENEITY OF SOCIAL DYNAMICS;
- SHOW AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT AND ETHICAL AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN REASONING ACCORDING TO PLURAL AND OPEN LOGICS TYPICAL OF SPECIAL PEDAGOGY AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- SUSTAIN INTERDISCIPLINARY CONVERSATIONS ON ISSUES RELATED TO SPECIAL EDUCATION AND INCLUSIVE PROCESSES WITH OTHER PRACTITIONERS AND SPECIALISTS;
- DESCRIBE, WITH APPROPRIATE SCIENTIFIC TERMINOLOGY AND VOCABULARY, ADOPTABLE PRACTICES IN SPECIFIC CONTEXTS OF INTERVENTION;
- FORMULATE CRITICAL REFLECTIONS RELATIVE TO OPERATIONAL PRACTICES IN THE FIELD.

LEARNING SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- ACQUIRE, IN A CRITICAL AND REFLECTIVE SENSE, THE CENTRAL CONSTRUCTS OF THE DISCIPLINE, WHICH WILL ENABLE HIM/HER TO ORIENT TRAINING ACCORDING TO SPECIAL INTERESTS IN TERMS OF A CAREER PATH;
- PROSPECT RESEARCH HYPOTHESES AND PRODUCE SCIENTIFIC REPORTS DESCRIBING THE RESULTS OF EMPIRICAL STUDY;
- PROCEED TO THE CONTINUOUS UPDATING OF ONE'S KNOWLEDGE BY DELVING INTO THE RELEVANT SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE.


Prerequisites
THE TOPICS COVERED REQUIRE BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
- OF THE HISTORY OF THE DISCIPLINE;
- OF THE MAIN STUDY APPROACHES TO SPECIAL PEDAGOGY AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION;
- OF THEIR APPLICATION TO EDUCATIONAL AND SOCIAL CONTEXTS.
Contents
STARTING WITH A DEFINITION OF THE FIELDS OF STUDY OF SPECIAL EDUCATION, THE COURSE WILL ANALYZE SOME KEY CONCEPTS OF THE DISCIPLINE, FOCUSING ON THE ISSUES OF DISABILITY, SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION.
Teaching Methods
TEACHING WILL CONSIST OF LECTURES AND PRACTICAL EXERCISES AIMED AT THE ACQUISITION OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING SKILLS OF THE DISCIPLINE AND THEIR APPLICATION IN SPECIFIC CONTEXTS.
Verification of learning
FINAL ASSESSMENT, CONSISTENT WITH THE EXPECTED LEARNING OBJECTIVES, WILL BE BASED ON AN INTERVIEW THAT WILL BE DESIGNED TO VERIFY, WITH A GRADE IN THIRTIETHS AND POSSIBLE HONORS, THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY TO REFLECT CRITICALLY ON THE ISSUES PRESENTED DURING THE COURSE AND ADDRESSED IN THE REFERENCE TEXTS.
