Objectives
THE COURSE IS DIVIDED INTO 2 MODULES, CALLED "PSYCHOLOGY OF MOTIVATION" (MODULE 1) AND "TEST AND MEASUREMENT IN PSYCHOLOGY" (MODULE 2), EACH MODULE WITH 6 CREDITS (36 HOURS LESSONS + 36 HOURS LESSONS)

MODULE 1.
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL SKILLS AIMED AT UNDERSTANDING THE MAIN THEORETICAL MODELS OF HUMAN MOTIVATION, PARTICULARLY RELEVANT IN EDUCATIONAL, SPORTS AND HEALTH-PROMOTION CONTEXTS. AT THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND, USE AND CRITICALLY JUDGE THE MAIN REFERENCE THEORIES, THE UPDATED KNOWLEDGE OF SCIENTIFIC STUDIES CONCERNING THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN MOTIVATION AND STUDY, MOTIVATION AND HEALTH, MOTIVATION AND SPORT, RECOGNIZING THEM CONTEXT-SPECIFIC ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: KNOWING AND UNDERSTANDING THE MAIN THEORETICAL REFERENCE MODELS FOR THE STUDY OF HUMAN MOTIVATION.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: BEING ABLE TO APPLY THE KNOWLEDGE LEARNED, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE MAIN MOTIVATIONAL THEORIES PARTICULARLY RELEVANT IN EDUCATIONAL, SPORTS AND HEALTH-PROMOTION CONTEXTS.

INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO CRITICALLY EVALUATE THE APPLICATION OF MOTIVATIONAL THEORIES IN EDUCATIONAL, SPORTS AND HEALTH-PROMOTION CONTEXTS.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO CLEARLY PRESENT THEORIES, PROCESSES AND IMPLICATIONS RELATED TO MOTIVATION USING THE SPECIALIZED LANGUAGE OF THE SECTOR.

LEARNING SKILLS: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO INDEPENDENTLY INVESTIGATE THE MAIN THEORETICAL-APPLICATIVE ISSUES CONCERNING MOTIVATION IN EDUCATION, SPORTS AND HEALTH PROMOTION CONTEXTS.


MODULE 2.
THE COURSE AIMS TO OFFER KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ON THE THEORIES AND PSYCHOMETRIC MODELS CONCERNING TESTS AND MEASUREMENT IN THE PSYCHOLOGICAL FIELD. TESTS ARE ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT INSTRUMENTS AVAILABLE TO THE PSYCHOLOGISTS AND IT IS INCREASINGLY RELEVANT IN EDUCATIONAL, SPORTS, AND COMMUNITY SETTINGS. AT THE END OF THE COURSE, THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS NECESSARY TO EVALUATE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF RELIABLE AND VALID PSYCHOLOGICAL TEST.

AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO CRITICALLY EVALUATE PSYCHOLOGICAL SCALES AND MEASURES IN EDUCATIONAL, SPORTS, CLINICAL AND COMMUNITY CONTEXTS.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO CLEARLY EXPLAIN THEORIES, METHODS AND PROCESSES CONCERNING PSYCHOLOGICAL MEASUREMENT IN THE EDUCATIONAL, SPORTS, CLINICAL AND COMMUNITY DOMAINS USING THE SPECIALIZED LANGUAGE OF THE SECTOR.

LEARNING SKILLS: THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO INDEPENDENTLY DEEPEN THE MAIN SCIENTIFIC AND METHODOLOGICAL ISSUES REGARDING THE MEASUREMENT OF PERCEPTIONS, ATTITUDES, MOTIVATION, AND BEHAVIORS IN EDUCATIONAL, SPORTS, CLINICAL AND COMMUNITY CONTEXTS.

MODULE 1.
THE COURSE WILL FOCUS ON THE FOLLOWING CONTENTS:
- THE CONSTRUCT OF MOTIVATION: DEFINITIONS AND CLASSIFICATIONS (2 HOURS LESSONS + 2 HOURS INDIVIDUAL / GROUP PRACTICE);
- THE MOTIVATION BETWEEN BIOLOGY AND CULTURE (4 HOURS LESSONS);
- THE MAIN THEORIES ON HUMAN MOTIVATION (6 HOURS LESSONS + 6 HOURS INDIVIDUAL / GROUP PRACTICE);
- PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS OF MOTIVATIONAL THEORIES IN EDUCATIONAL, SPORTS, HEALTH PROMOTION (10 HOURS LESSONS + 6 HOURS INDIVIDUAL / GROUP PRACTICE)

THE CONTENTS WILL BE DEEPENED THROUGH THE ANALYSIS OF STUDIES CONDUCTED IN EDUCATION, SPORTS AND HEALTH PROMOTION CONTEXTS.

THE COURSE WILL DEEPEN THE FOLLOWING CONTENTS:
-THE PSYCHOLOGICAL MEASURE (3 HOURS LESSON + 1 HOUR INDIVIDUAL/GROUP PRACTICE).
-THE CONSTRUCTION OF A PSYCHOLOGICAL TEST (2 HOURS LESSON).
-ITEM CHARACTERISTICS AND EVALUATION (4 HOURS LESSON + 2 HOURS INDIVIDUAL/GROUP PRACTICE).
-DIMENSIONALITY, VALIDITY, AND RELIABILITY OF A PSYCHOLOGICAL MEASURE (6 HOURS LESSON).
-STATISTICAL METHODS FOR THE EVALUATION OF THE DIMENSIONALITY, VALIDITY, AND RELIABILITY OF A PSYCHOLOGICAL MEASURE (4 HOURS LESSON + 4 HOURS INDIVIDUAL/GROUP PRACTICE).
-SCORES INTERPRETATION (2 HOURS LESSON).
-ANALYTIC APPROACHES FOR THE ANALYSIS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL VARIABLES (4 HOURS LESSON + HOURS INDIVIDUAL/GROUP PRACTICE).

THE CONTENTS WILL BE DEEPENED THROUGH THE ANALYSIS OF RESEARCH AND REAL STUDIES CONDUCTED IN EDUCATIONAL, SPORTS, CLINICAL AND COMMUNITY CONTEXTS. THE TEACHER MIGHT MODIFY THE ARTICULATION OF THE COURSE TO RESPOND TO STUDENTS’ LEARNING NEEDS.

VERIFICATION OF LEARNING WILL BE CARRIED OUT BY MEANS AN ORAL INTERVIEW AIMED AT ASSESSING THE ACQUISITION OF THE MAIN KNOWLEDGE OF THE COURSE, THE MASTERY OF THE CONTENTS, THE REASONING SKILLS BASED ON THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED, THE MASTERY OF THE SCIENTIFIC LANGUAGE OF THE REFERENCE DOMAIN.

MODULE 2
THE EXAM IS AIMED AT ASSESSING THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN PSYCHOLOGICAL THEORIES AND PSYCHOMETRIC MODELS CONCERNING THE MEASUREMENT IN PSYCHOLOGY AND THE ABILITY TO EVALUATE THESE TOOLS.

THE ASSESSMENT OF LEARNING WILL BE CARRIED OUT BY MEANS OF AN ORAL INTERVIEW. THE ORAL INTERVIEW IS AIMED TO EVALUATE THE ACQUISITION OF THE MAIN KNOWLEDGE OF THE COURSE, TO VERIFY THE MASTERY OF THE CONTENTS, THE ABILITY TO REASON ON THE BASIS OF THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED, THE MASTERY OF THE SCIENTIFIC LANGUAGE OF THE DOMAIN OF REFERENCE.
