Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO INTRODUCE THE STUDENT TO FUNDAMENTAL PSYCHOLOGICAL THEORIES FOR EDUCATION, PROVIDING THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS FOR THE PSYCHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF HUMAN BEHAVIORS.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: TO KNOW THE THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS OF PSYCHOLOGY AND THE VOCABULARY OF THE DISCIPLINE AND TO LEARN TO READ AND DISCUSS SCIENTIFIC TEXTS IN THE DISCIPLINE.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: TO BE ABLE TO USE PSYCHOLOGICAL CONCEPTS APPROPRIATELY AND TO USE THEM FOR THE ANALYSIS OF SPECIFIC AND COMPLEX CASES.

AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT: TO BE ABLE TO CRITICALLY EVALUATE THE ACQUIRED THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE, INCLUDING THE ABILITY TO CRITICALLY EXAMINE SOURCES, INTERPRET STUDY RESULTS, AND FORMULATE CONCLUSIONS BASED ON ACCURATE AND INDEPENDENT ANALYSIS.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: TO BE ABLE TO CLEARLY EXPRESS CONCEPTS, THEORIES, AND PROCESSES OF GENERAL PSYCHOLOGY USING APPROPRIATE SCIENTIFIC LANGUAGE, BOTH VERBALLY AND IN WRITING, IN ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL CONTEXTS.

THE COURSE IS PRIMARILY DELIVERED THROUGH LECTURES, ALLOWING STUDENTS TO ACQUIRE THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE DISCIPLINE. ADDITIONALLY, THERE IS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASSROOM EXERCISES AIMED AT DEVELOPING READING, COMPREHENSION, AND DISCUSSION SKILLS OF SCIENTIFIC TEXTS WITHIN THE DISCIPLINE.
Verification of learning
THE EXAM CONSISTS OF A WRITTEN TEST CONTAINING BOTH MULTIPLE-CHOICE QUESTIONS AND OPEN-ENDED QUESTIONS. MULTIPLE-CHOICE QUESTIONS AIM TO ASSESS THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE DISCIPLINE. OPEN-ENDED QUESTIONS AIM TO ASSESS READING, COMPREHENSION, AND DISCUSSION SKILLS OF SCIENTIFIC TEXTS WITHIN THE DISCIPLINE.
