Objectives
THE ENT COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH THE NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE OF PREVENTION,DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF THE MOST COMMON DISEASES AFFECTING HEAD AND NECK AREA (NOSE, SINUSES AND NASOPHARYNX; ORAL CAVITY AND OROPHARYNX; HYPOPHARYNX, LARYNX AND NECK; SALIVARY GLANDS, EAR). THE STUDENT, AT THE END OF THE COURSE,MUST BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE CORRECT DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURE STARTING WITH THE ANAMNESIS AND THE SYMPTOM ALSO TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE MOST RECENT AND INNOVATIVE INSTRUMENTAL TECHNIQUES (ENDOSCOPY, RHYNOMANOMETRY, SLEEP ENDOSCOPY, POLYSOMNOGRAPHY, BALLOON SINUPLASTY, CO2 LASER , PIEZOSURGERY ETC.)

THE OPHTHALMOLOGY COURSE AIMS TO LET MEDICAL STUDENTS KNOW THE ETIOLOGY, DIAGNOSIS AND THERAPY OF DISEASES AFFECTING THE VISUAL APPARATUS. AT THE END OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE AND TREAT THE MOST COMMON DISEASES OF THE VISUAL SYSTEM, AS FAR AS POSSIBLE WITH THE EQUIPMENT PROVIDED BY A GENERAL MEDICINE DOCTOR, AS WELL AS TO RECOGNIZE THE CORRECT INDICATIONS FOR SEEKING ADVICE OPHTALMOLOGY

THE MAXILLO-FACIAL MODULE MAINLY DEALS WITH TRAUMA SKULL, MALFORMATIONS SYNDROME AND ORTOGNATIC SURGERY TOPICS HE OPHTALMOLOGY COURSE AIMS TO TEACH TO MEDICAL STUDENTS THE ETIOLOGY,THE DIAGNOSIS AND THE THERAPY OF MAIN PATHOLOGY AFFECTING THE VISUAL APPARATUS. AT THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENTS MUST BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY AND TREAT THE MOST COMMON OPHTALMOLOGIC DISEASES AS FAR AS POSSIBLE IN RELATION TO THE SUPPLIED EQUIPMENT TO THE GENERAL PRACTITIONER AND UNDERSTAND THE CORRECT INDICATIONS TO ASK FOR AN OPHTALMOLOGY CONSULTATION.

THE ODONTOSTOMATOLOGY COURSE AIMS TO PRESENT TO THE MEDICAL STUDENT THE BASICS OF ODONTOSTOMATOLGICAL DISEASES RELEVANT TO THE MEDICAL CURRICULUM AND THAT CAN ADDRESS PREVENTION AND INITIAL DIAGNOSTICS ; THAT CAN LEAD THE SUDENT TO HAVE: KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF ODONTOSTOMATOLOGICAL DISEASES, CAPACITY TO EMPLOY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING FOR ODONTOSTOMATOLOGICAL DISEASES, AUTONOMOUS JUDGEMENT ON PERSONAL AND DENTIST’S THERAPEUTIC ACTION, COMMUNICATION CAPACITIES TO THE PATIENT, LEARNING CAPACITIES OF THE FUTURE PROGRESSES OF THE DISCIPLINE.


Prerequisites
ADEQUATE KNOWLEDGE OF ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY OF THE DISCIPLINES OF THE COURSE. BASIC BACKGROUND PRINCIPLES OF RELATED BIOLOGY AND PHYSICS.
IN THIS REGARD THE STUDENT MUST HAVE PASSED THE EXAMINATIONS REPORTED IN THE ACADEMIC REGULUATIONS OF THE COURSE: HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY AND HUMAN ANATOMY II
