Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE VARIOUS METHODS, FORMS AND TECHNIQUES OF HISTORICAL RESEARCH. IT ALSO WISHES TO DEVELOP SKILLS ON THE PROCESS OF COMMUNICATING HISTORY, WHICH FACILITATES FREE PUBLIC ACCESS AND INVOLVEMENT IN THE DISSEMINATION OF HISTORY AND ENCOURAGES AND RE-TRANSLATION (RE-ADAPTATION) OF HISTORICAL KNOWLEDGE INTO MEDIA FORMATS, BASED ON THE USE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY.

THE STUDENT IS ASSUMED TO HAVE A BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE PRINCIPAL CONCEPTS OF MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY HISTORY
Contents
THE COURSE INTENDS TO OFFER TOOLS FOR RESEARCHING AND DISSEMINATING HISTORICAL KNOWLEDGE. PARTICULAR ATTENTION WILL BE PAID TO THE USE OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES, INNOVATIVE LANGUAGES AND DIFFERENT LEVELS OF INTERACTION FOR DIFFERENTIATED AUDIENCES. IT IS COMPOSED OF 2 MODULES:
1) AFTER A FIRST INTRODUCTORY PART TO UNDERSTAND THE SENSE OF THE PAST IN OUR PUBLIC DISCOURSE, WE MOVE ON TO DEEPEN THE FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPTS AND PRACTICES RELATED TO THE HISTORICAL RESEARCH. THROUGH THE ANALYSIS OF CONCRETE EXAMPLES, IT WILL BE POSSIBLE TO EVALUATE THE MAIN HISTORICAL, THEMATIC AND METHODOLOGICAL ISSUES RELATED TO THE STUDY OF HISTORICAL COMMUNICATION.
2) THE SECOND PART WILL CONSIST IN SEMINARS: STUDENTS WILL CRITICALLY UTILIZE SOURCES, METHODS AND NARRATIVES OF HISTORICAL RESEARCH. THERE WILL BE A DIGITAL HISTORY COMMUNICATIONS LAB.


Teaching Methods
LECTURES AND MULTIMEDIA TEACHING MATERIALS. THERE ARE EXERCISES AND SIMULATIONS TO DEVELOP SPECIFIC SKILLS IN COMMUNICATION OF HISTORICAL KNOWLEDGE. THE TEACHING INCLUDES MEETINGS WITH SPECIALIZED SCHOLARS.
Verification of learning
THE EXAMINATION TAKES PLACE ORALLY AND AIMS TO ASSESS THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE FOLLOWING LEARNING OBJECTIVES: LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE OF THE CONTENTS; ABILITY TO ARTICULATE A DISCOURSE, TO EXPOUND CLEARLY AND WITH APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE.
