Objectives
THE COURSE HAS THE OBJECTIVE OF MAKING STUDENTS ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT DIFFERENT FORMS OF RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUMAN BEINGS AND THE ENVIRONMENT.
STUDENTS WILL LEARN TO RESEARCH, OBSERVE AND CRITICALLY ANALYZE THE TRANSFORMATION PROCESSES OF TERRITORIES, BOTH URBAN AND RURAL. THEY WILL INVESTIGATE THE MULTIDIMENSIONAL SET OF ECOLOGICAL NETWORKS AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY OF SOCIAL SYSTEMS.
VARIOUS CONCRETE EXPERIENCES WILL BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION, BOTH FROM THE LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL CONTEXT.

STUDENTS WILL ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE RELATED TO THE DEBATE AROUND THE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY OF SOCIAL SYSTEMS.
THE COURSE AIMS TO EXPLAIN SOME OF THE MOST RECENT THEORETICAL ANALYZES THAT HAVE EMERGED ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOCIETY AND THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT, AS WELL AS TO RAISE THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE SOCIOLOGY OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE TERRITORY, WITH PARTICULAR FOCUS ON THE PERSPECTIVE OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL SUSTAINABILITY.
Teaching Methods
THE METHOD WILL GIVE TO THE STUDENTS THE OPPOTUNITY OF:
- CRITICALLY EXAMINE THE ONGOING SOCIAL PROCESSES WITH THE RELATIVE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS IN THE TERRITORIES, BOTH RURAL AND URBAN;
- USE DIFFERENT RESEARCH TECHNIQUES, RECOVERING DATA AND DIRECT TESTIMONIALS, OBSERVING AND MEETING SOME LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL CASE STUDIES;
- PROCESS RESEARCH REPORTS, APPLYING CATEGORIES, METHODOLOGIES AND DATA PRESENTED AND ANALYZED DURING THE COURSE;
- INDEPENDENTLY INTERPRET THE DATA AND INFORMATION AVAILABLE ON THE SUSTAINABILITY OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUMAN SOCIETY AND THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT IN DIFFERENT AREAS OF THE WORLD.
Verification of learning
THE EVALUATION OF THE WORK OF STUDENTS, WILL BE BASED ON THE ELABORATION OF A SHORT REPORT, INDIVIDUAL OR COLLECTIVE. THE REPORT WILL CONSTITUTE THE DEEPENING OF A THEME ADDRESSED DURING THE LABORATORY.
THE OBJECT, THE EXTENSION AND THE METHOD, INDIVIDUAL OR COLLECTIVE (AND POSSIBLE COMPOSITION OF THE GROUP), OF THE SHORT REPORT WILL BE AGREED IN ADVANCE WITH THE TEACHER IN CLASS OR VIA EMAIL.
THE DEFINITIVE TEXT MUST BE DELIVERED VIA EMAIL ON A DATE TO BE AGREED WITH THE TEACHER.
THE RESEARCH AND USE OF DATA AND ANALYTICAL CATEGORIES IN A SYSTEMATIC WAY WILL BE EVALUATED, AS WELL AS WRITTEN PROCESSING SKILLS.
